Nykmedia, lol you're like me, I wouldn't have stopped yesterday either, I would intend to carry on until my quit date in true addicts style! Good luck for tomorrow, we'll all be here for you
Cath, 30 days today, wow, that's brilliant :T do you feel better for it?
BrickingIt, how's it going? I hope you are still keeping strong, keep us updated
Dramaqueen, good luck for tomorrow and welcome to the thread  be sure to let us know how you're doing and stop by for some support
Cameo, congrats for your 1st anniversarygive us all some tips!
YM, happy new year to you too, I'm still not sure about this drinking challenge thing
Becca, how's it going?
How's everyone else today.
Have any of you seen the new Niquitin Clear adverts, god they make me mad! I saw it for the first time last night and they basically give the impression that it's impossible to go cold turkey, listing all the bad withdrawal effects and that it's only possible if you use a patch. What a load of carp, I felt so bad for all the people doing so well going cold turkey at the moment and watching that ad :mad:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
Hi Jo and everyone.
Yes It's 30 days today!!! and I feel much better for it thanks.
I haven't seen the niquitin ad, but as far as I'm concerned alot of the adverts on tv talk alot of cr*p and so do alot of the programmes!!!:D
Anyway continued good luck to everyone and hope you all have a great night tonight!!!

Can I just second that - a very special HAPPY NEW YEAR to all MSE non-smokers and those quitting tomorrow. You CAN do it and there will be lots of support on here over the next few days especially!!
nyk, well all I can say is that your 3 days of quitting won't feel any different at all from yesterday or today where you've made yourself wait for those precious 2 ciggies. I was NO WAY strong enough to do that??!!! If you can do that, quitting is 10 times easier, believe me. You will have 3 days just like the last two, then you will be FREEEEEEE. I remember waking up on day four feeling so calm it was unbelievable. I have a feeling January 4th is going to be a fabulous day for a lot of people :j
BrickingIt - YOU GO FOR IT!! You will get to that "calm" day early and you will be soooo glad you have.
To all those who have quit this year - ain't it lovely not having to put QUIT SMOKING on this year's New Year's resolutions list?!!

Well done Tatty :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: . 30 days is excellent. You are doing really well and we more or less quit at the same time so well done.

Hi Joe :hello:
Happy new year to you and your family. Thanks for all your inspirational posts.
You are a Star :T

Hi jo - completely agree about the NRT adverts. They should be banned! They are so misleading. They make poor addicts even more scared about quitting and make it look like withdrawal pangs are some sort of hell! Smokers go through withdrawal pangs about 20 times every day (if they are a 20 a day "average" smoker). The only difference when you quit is that you don't satisfy those pangs for 3 days. Then it's OVER!!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0

Hello everyone,
I am giving up smoking 2moro,today is my last day.Ive been waiting for so long to give up! Im going to find it very hard tho. I havent got much support so Im a bit worried as I dont to give in. I am under a lot of stress as I have a lot of problems aswell as suffering from depression but I know I cannot use these as an excuse no more. Im a single mum on my own,I have just moved to a new flat which is a s@@@hole as my landlords not doing the repairs and havent made many friends in the area.
I have been to see the nurse at the gp who gavev me a booklet aswell as my patches. But im still scared as I really do not want to fail this. This is my 2nd attempt to give up. I done really well last time I gave up.I done it for 4 months, then when I saw my sons dad(ex) he asked if i was pregnant as Id put on weight. It had never bothered me until he made that comment. I loked healthy and glowing but his comment felt like an insult to me.I was not pregant but actually a healthy size 10. I have always been slim but an unhealthy slim as I have eating disorder. Now I dont care how much weight I put on as I want and need to put on weight as Ive lost too much weight due to the stress and my depression and I have promised my 5 year old son that 2008 is going to be different. My dad died about 2 years ago from lung cancer and his brother who was my uncle died of the same. How am I going to get through this?
I dont want to be ratty when I have a craving,I dont have a lot around me to keep smoking off my mind.Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys x0
