might as well give up on the whole bloody thing
Don't give up trying to give up, I have to admit I had one cigarette today, i have had a sh*tty day, and dare I say it, but I needed a cigarette, I felt quite dizzy after it and didn't enjoy it, so I will try again tomorrow, please try with me.

grrr im so mad!!! stupid oh!! wanted to get up and oh sort kids out while i distract myself and as soon as my son is ready go straight to morrisons so i dont have time for a cig...but he in a mood again! sayin he wants a lie in. and that he not lookin after my youngest while i go morrisons..i i dont like takin both of them shoppin due to the fact they play up and that the walk is up hill and i dont like max walkin to far and no buses. so Peed off!! he been in mood in mornings past 2 days since i said im stoppin again and he knows if he in a mood it gets me in a mood and kids which is unfair on my kids. I think he been in mood so i do smoke..and now sayin he wants a lie in and wont watch my daughter so i will smoke!!!
OH can be a real pain, don't tell him your trying to stop, simply do it for you and your children, if he sees you as having achieved it, just then maybe he'll try, but I wouldn't try giving up together, life could be hell for a few days, I'm lucky I suppose my OH doesn't smoke and none of my friends do either, so it will be easier for me."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. men are funny thingsIts not about winning, its about you and the rest of your life as a non-smoker, do it for you, and you'll be proud as punch when you have completed your first day, I almost made it, I did 22 hours without one, and then I had a glass of wine (or two) and coupled with my Cr*p day just had one, I will do better tomorrow, its funny I noticed the smell more on my hands after smoking one cigarette today, its yukky.

Morning
Reading the thread with interest. Totally relate to you Mumzy, that first cigarette in the morning is the one that we have to get over. I think a change of routine is in order.
Tobruk - I too had thought of Saturday as the day, I'm down to 4 a day at the moment. However I can't get the thought of stopping out of my head.
Everything JoeHel says is spot on and exactly the way I felt last year and it was sooo easy with Allen Carr. It's just not working for me second time. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. - Chinese Proverb

Good morning everyone, JoeHel thankyou for your encouragementI was a complete girly woos a few days before I quit and I was nearly sobbing I was so terrified!!! (I am a girl, in case you were wondering, so being pathetic is allowed
elle45 thank you, yes my mind is ticking Soo loudly I can't think straight!!
Mumzyof2, how are you today ... have you gone for it? Good luck
Merlot, hope today is better for you and you haven't lapsed!
Hi TNG and jo, always great as usual
Well Frugaljo, I've been wondering where you were ... thinking about you yesterday! Probably because you feel the same as I do about the dreaded ciggy!! You say you were thinking of Saturday ... are you going to go for it??? I'm sure you would be much better than me as you only smoke 4 a day now ... try adding another 20!:o
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Mumzy - does your OH smoke? If he does, you have to expect that he won't be too happy about you quitting. It's a panic reaction - no smoker wants to be the only one left! When I last had a go at quitting I did it when Joe was away at his parents, to give me a couple of days on my own to get used to it. When I told him I'd quit, he said he wasn't coming home unless I started again!!!! So of course I started again.... But this time he knows there is no point in getting funny with me because my mind is made up!! I tell him that He should be grateful because (a) I don't nag at him to stop and (b) I should hopefully now live to a ripe old age and not die first and leave him on his own :rotfl: (JOKE!!!)
Tobruk, I have to say that I would NOT want to be someone who "managed" on 4 ciggies a day. Frugaljo - that is a halfway hell between smoker and non-smoker that I just couldn't cope with!!!! I would be PERMANENTLY miserable (except for the 4 x 5 minute intervals I was actually smoking)... That first-morning ciggie that we crave(d) so badly is because of the nicotine-free few hours beforehand. Imagine having that strength of craving for most of the day, but just having enough ciggies to make sure you stay in that state all the time??! Personally I think it takes MORE strength to limit yourself to 4 a day than it does to give up completely! At least that way you have a bit of a craving for 3 days then it disappears! Mate, if you have read the Allen Carr book you KNOW what I am saying!QUIT SMOKING 4/11/07 :j0 -
Good morning
Wow there was a lot to catch up on since yesterday  - always a good thing though, otherwise I'd be wasting my time working :rotfl:
JoeHel, I can’t believe your OH said that to you – I know it’s scary to be the only smoker but seriously! How rude! I hope you made him pay for your ciggies since he made you smoke!:rotfl:
Mumzy, I just want to echo everyone else’s advice, don’t give up giving up and it will happen for you. My OH gets in a bad mood most mornings too but I just chat at him in an annoyingly nice way until he is so fed up that he gets up and does stuff just to be rid of me!
:hello: Tobruk, hello, have you got a date set yet? Merlot, hope you have a better day today, you might have had 1 cigarette but it’s a blip to get over not the start of a new habit….isn’t it?!
FrugalJo, I tried limiting myself in the lead up to quitting but does it not just make you think about fags more (ie in another hour I’m ‘allowed’ one type of thing?) Whatever works for you though!:D
Jo, glad your new job is going well (and I hope your old boss isn’t reading either!) – doesn’t your day fly by when you’re getting loads done? It’s rubbish cos it’s limiting my time on here but I do love busy days because it seems to take about 30 minutes to get from 9am to 6pm!
TNG hope you enjoyed your night in bonding with the kids, is Mrs TNG feeling grumpy this morning?! Hope she managed to resist the fags while her resistance was lowered.
Right well I’ll be back soon, hope everyone has a fab day, I have resisted fags for 26 days and curly wurlys for 2 days :A (ok ok I might have replaced them my new obsession – baby bels.Damn! )
All my love and best smokefree wishes
