Er, not really TNG.... OH and his son both smoke, plus I obviously used to smoke in the flat too. I can't just suddenly declare it a smoke-free zone because I'VE chosen to give up... We live in a 1st floor flat and there is NO WAY my OH is going to cart himself down stairs every time he wants a ciggie. If I suggested it I have no doubt at all he would leave. He has quite a serious mental health condition that comes and goes but he panics if his routine is messed up too much...

    Sorry JoeHel - didn't realise :o:o:o:o

HEH .. don't be daft mate, you weren't to know!

You've only said what MOST people have - that I SHOULD chuck 'em both outside for their ciggies, but I haven't the heart to. And it honestly doesn't bother me them smoking, except for the fact that Joe's coughing away all the time and I do worry about his health. But I'm just sitting quietly and saying nothing, and hoping that my calm manner will convince him that it's not as hard as he thinks to quit ;)

  • Hi

I have just got up as I have been on nights. Read through the thread and visited whyquit.com last night and have decided today is the day. Have not had a smoke since 6:30am. Early days as I have been asleep but here we go.

That site is an eye opener I can tell you. Got to go now and will catch up again tonight.

    Good luck to you all

I must say JoeHel that you have done fantasically well under the circumstances - hats off to you :)

Well I have been writing my christmas cards today as I know that as from Saturday my head will be all over the place - don't want to do anything that involves concentration in the first week or so!!! My concentration is bad anyway due to the ME so best to get everything brain taxing out of the way!;)

Hopefully he (they) will realise that you have done it with no cravings and can sit around smokers with no problems and want to join you :D

Well done you, though :T :T

yellowmonkey - Well done you!!! Go for it! The site is great isn't it. Joel has heaps of brilliant advice on pretty much every single problem/excuse a smoker can come up with! I pop in there every other day and have a browse through the articles. I haven't even dared watch any of the videos yet!!

Thanks Tobruk. Will be thinking of you on Saturday! And don't forget that little-and-often healthy snacks and fruit juice will keep your blood sugar levels stable and help with the concentration lapses!

TNG - those are the noises he's starting to make so I'm just keeping quiet and waiting for him to start asking questions about how to go about it! ;)

So glad we are all doing well on here, hopefully we shall all be a lovely smelling bunch tomorrow :D

I wish you all so much luck and you know where to come for support. We are all here every step of the way. For those that don't know me too much, I used to be here every waking hour but just started a new job 4 weeks ago so got to be careful about logging on during the day. I am watching, but I now work for the council and they watch what you're doing so can't actually log on and post at the moment. But I'm there in spirit and so want you all to experience being smoke-free cos you don't know what you're missing :D:D

Speak to you all tomorrow xx
