Well Frugaljo, I've been wondering where you were ... thinking about you yesterday! Probably because you feel the same as I do about the dreaded ciggy!! You say you were thinking of Saturday ... are you going to go for it??? I'm sure you would be much better than me as you only smoke 4 a day now ... try adding another 20!:o

    Hi Tobruk
Tomorrow is the day, you up for it too ?
My house is a complete tip and I want to get it sorted before the Xmas paraphanalia starts so my whole weekend is booked with a bottle of stardrops and being a taxi for kids social life.

Like JoeHel says positive is the only way to go, there's no point in moping about this otherwise I've already failed.
    Have a good day all.

Good luck to everyone else today, I think it might be a good idea if we do a roll call to see where we are all at, what do you reckon?

Hope you all have a great smoke-free FRIDAY :D

Hi Frugaljo, yes tomorrow is THE day  and when I woke this morning I was thinking what day it was ... oh it's Friday already, gulp! One more day ... I have to do it! It does seem to be on my mind constantly this morning, worrying about tomorrow ... a bit apprehensive ;) Are you going for it tomorrow too??? I am thinking already that it is going to be hard for me!

mumzof2 - hope you are feeling ok this morning and feeling positive, hope your first day goes well.

Well YM, that's great ... your first day has gone already and done so well ;) I can't believe that you carried your tobacco with you and you didn't lapse at all - that is amazing! Good luck on your second day.
    How's everyone else?

yellowmoney - well done you mate - another nicotine-free day and you'll be on the home straights!!

mumzy - keeping everything crossed that today starts positively for you!!

mumofthreemonkeys (my sister's one of those too!) - welcome! Well done so far and keep on going - you won't regret it!

Tobruk & FrugalJo - will be thinking of you tomorrow!! What I DO NOT want to hear from you, Tobruk, are these words "I am thinking already that it is going to be hard for me!" What kind of positive thinking is THAT??!! Am I not teaching you anything here!! ;) :rotfl: Seriously - if you don't take a blind bit of notice of anything else I write, please just believe me that if you THINK POSITIVE you CAN do it and it will become enjoyable and not hellish!!! Even if you have to MAKE yourself think positively it WILL start to affect your mood.

I am desperately trying to think of anything that helped me feel this fantastic about quitting. It obviously makes no difference to my life whether you quit or not, but OMG if I can help just ONE person feel the relief I do now, well that would be amazing.

All I can say is that 4 week ago today I was literally SHAKING with terror at the thought of quitting and NOBODY who knows me thought I would last more than an hour. I was the most addicted person I know. It was only recently that we agreed to ban smoking in the bedroom and before then I would light my first fag BEFORE I GOT OUT OF BED!!! How Waynetta is that??!! I haven't booked a flight in over 4 years because I just couldn't face that long without a ciggie!! I would always have at least 2 packs on me and haven't been to the cinema or theatre in YEARS. Since July I had stopped going to restaurants or any bars without outside tables!!!

Those first 3 days WERE jittery. But they were no more jittery than I felt when forced to go a couple of hours without a ciggie. That jittery feeling you have when you wake up - that's the WORST it's gonna get!! If you can cope with that (for THREE days at most) you can do it!!! Yes, I felt anxious at times but I kept it in my head that I WOULD succeed and it was all going to be okay. On the fourth day I woke up feeling blissfully calm and KNEW that was that!!

I'm so excited for you all who have this to come!!!

TNG - hope the night before made the hangover worth it ;)

  • HI EVERYONE:hello:
It is day 5 for me. I found yesterday really really hard. All I could think about was smoking, I am still having cravings but I know that thay will pass quite quickly so they are not too bad but smoking was all I could think about yesterday.

I do feel better today. I had my first cup of coffee since quitting (smoking and coffee go hand in hand to me) Not as hard as I thought it was going to be (tasted better as well!) just shows that most of it is in my head.

Major plus side is that after my shower in the morning my hair still smells like shampoo in the afternoon!!

I hope everyone is having a good day.

I hear you loud and clear JoeHel, w er ... I wouldn't like to cross you!:rotfl:It's just jitters and feeling panicked a bit! Today I am making preparations, things to do tomorrow to distract etc. You know what I mean ;)

Smoking in the bedroom ... that is something I have never done. Fair play JoeHel you have done wonderfully well and you are an inspiration, albeit a bit frightening :rotfl: - I shall think of you tomorrow. If I fail I shan't come on here at all - I wouldn't be able to!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Joe would wet himself laughing if he saw someone describe me as "frightening".... heh heh heh heh I the biggest softy ever..!!!! :D

Come back whether you succeed or not mate - I promise I don't bite (very hard). ;) I get a bit animated when I am excited about something and this is something I feel very passionate about at the moment because it is all so new and fantastic. I'm only trying to be encouraging - I promise I wouldn't have a go if anyone didn't succeed in quitting. Hel.

Thanks Hel, yes I can see that you are passionate about it and I would love to succeed and experience what you are experiencing ;) I know perhaps I come across as you put it ... negative, this is the nervousness (if there is such a word!) I am feeling at the moment;) Thank you for all your encouragement ... I shall see how it goes!
