The Giving Up Smoking Thread!!

Here it all comes...
I've been avoiding the thread the last few days and smoking.
But, just now, while having a fag, I asked myself do I really want this? And this time I was honest. I put the fag out immediately.
And after I'm going to bin all the fags, lighters and ashtray.
I even looked at the shed floor and saw all the cigarette ash, my parents must know!

course they do, Adz.

I thought I could hide it from my parents when I'd been smoking, but you can't. The smell just stays around your clothes and it is sooo obvious

Hi everyone can I join you please?

I have always been an occasional smoker but have recently started smoking more and really want to knock it in the head before it gets a grip.

Im just about to put my last one out!!!!!!!

Make sure you read the first post, it's full of great links, from a counter telling you how long you've not smoked for, how much life and money you've saved, to gruesome videos and persuasive links.

Thanks Adzha - I am going cold turkey - I have managed twice before with each pregnancy but started again soon after giving birth.

Did you all tell everyone that you were giving up. Im a bit worried about colleagues asking me all the time how its going - I imagine it will be like being reminded about cigs.

None of my family (apart from OH) know I smoke and all my friends are none smokers too so that should make things easier. x x
