  • Happy Friday everybody!
I was in a very happy mood for no good reason this morning - have just found out my job is being made permanent so am now in a great good for a v. gd reason!

I celebrated in a naughty non-moneysaving way by bringing in doughnuts to work - but hey, better a doughnut (and potential obesity-related coronary heart disease) than fags (and potential lung cancer)

Anyway, I just wanted to say, hope you all have fabulous and fag-free weekends. :j

    Adz, what's going on??

IDA, looking forward to hearing your news of the scan, make sure you come on and tlel us what happened!

TNG, how did you celebrate Mrs TNG's anniversary? Judging by the last 2 weeks if she keeps off the fags you'll have to buy Cadburys ;)

BE, how's it going? You are doing so well :D

    How's everyone else?

Had a manic week at work but love it so that's cool, actually looking forward to Monday morning which is a new thing for me :D

  • Hello all, great to see this thread is still going strong lots of newbies too. I have been off line for a while, my dad was not well and has sadly died 19/9/07, so being an only child had to deal with all the stuff that goes with it. Dad was 88 and has been missing my mum so much that in some ways it was a blessing. I like to think they are back together again.
During all this I HAVE NOT SMOKED and feel so pleased with myself.
Nice to catch up with all your news new job new baby lovely.
Take care all, keep on quitting,
    ILA

  • Hi ILA
great to hear from you - so sorry to hear about your dad, how proud would he be that you dealt with all the heartache and didn't reach for the nicotine!! I truly believe we are reunited in death with those we love so you can be sure both mum and dad are watching over you.
    Take care.

No one told me how expensive Godiva was before I went, did they!!!! Had to get one of the cheapest boxes as that would have set a precedent (Maybe there's something in that username of mine after all)

Adz - hope you're out and about and NOT smoking, rather than spending all your time on a PC

    Happy weekend all...

  • Hi

Can you book a spot for me on the 1st January 2008. That is when I am going to stop. Thought I would get in early as it is bound to be busy then. First step done. Giving up date set.

    See you next year.

Woohoo, YM, knew you'd succumb :D Look forward to you joining in Jan, but remember to stick around and get some non-smoking vibes before then, definately check out post no. 1 before the big day to prepare your self. Good luck :D

Mumz, you'll be fine today, hope you get through it ok, get on here and vent as much as you can :)

TNG, woohoo you're still alive, it must've been the Godiva that saved your soul this weekend ;)

I don't feel quite so alive today, had my DS's birthday party yesterday at a kids place with the balls, slides, climby things and my DS and all his mate's favourite bit is 40ft up one of these cages where they fire balls out of a cannon gun thing. This is great until you've gotta get em out for their food  I've lost my voice today after screaming at them to come down, got a sore throat and am covered in bruises as I had to actually go in there to the top and get them down myself  DH wouldn't do it as he was fantasically hung over from Friday (yesterday was his birthday too!), and he could bearly stand up let alone climb up the thing then go down a sheer drop slide  But I did it :D and quite enjoyed meself :D:D

In fact, this time last year I wouldn't have had the energy to do it, must be the clear lungs that helped me

    How's everyone today?
