Good luck to anyone giving up today!!! :T
I think what helped me yesterday was the fact that I made it public on here with you lot and if I gave in and lit up then I'd have to come back with my tail between my legs. Plus I've now saved £5.60 just in one day which will grow and grow!!
Keep us updated with your progress and if you're wobbling then write it down on here, sometimes it helps to write things down, I'll try and get on when I can.
Have a good day and good luck!!

goodmorning fellow quitters
Jo - well done on yesterday - £5.60 saved is brilliant :j
AliOK - how are you getting on ?
well I have my patch on and I actually found 5 patches, some micro tabs ( but dont like them ) and some inhilator cartridges - cant find the actual inhilator thoughso that gives me a few days to find a stop smoking clinic.
all the best and have a good day :T:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -

Morning all!
Well done Jo on yesterday and a tangible saving already.
Oops - Do the patches burn your skin or leave it sore? I tried them years ago and had problems, but thinking of trying them again.
Doing OK here so far! Was busy hunting out lozenges and inhalator/tabs this morning so avoided that "first one of the day feeling". Found my Allen Carr book, so going to give that another read.
My first milestone will be when I can complete the Power Ranger Training (DVD) with DS without feeling knackered :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day and I'll pop in later with an update.Back on the DFW Wagon:

well done evryone. i think i got my quit tool thing from a site called dedicateddesigns, every time i turn on my pc its there and today it tells me i have quit for 3wks 4 days 10 hrs 50 mins, i have not smoked 585 fags (eek disgusting when u think about it), saved £128 and saved 2 days and 45 mins of my life. its really motivating having it there.
i am mostly over the cravings, just a dull, long longing now which i need tot keep distracting myself from now, but looking back the past few weeks have actually flown by, i was sure they would drag!
am having my first drink on wed night(drum roll) but it will be in my hhouse withh a non smoker, just have to get so drunk i crash out and make it impossible for myself to get to the garage if i start thinking 'to hell with it i k now i can stop so ill just hhave one then stop again!!!!0 -
Morning Ali & FBS, well done!! Hope today is not too stressful.
Ali, I have a bit of a reaction to patches, they itch a little. Also I can't wear the highest strength ones even though last time I tried to use them a few years ago I was quitting from a 40 a day habit (this time I'd only got to 20 a day.....only  ), even the highest strength ones made me dizzy and faint. The next step down ones were fine for me. I don't know if they make them the same now cos I'm not using them. They really did help for a couple of weeks though to help kick start your quitting.
FBS, thanks for the link, I shall check it out now. Good luck with the drinking. I gave up drinking as well yesterday as they go hand in hand and so for the foreseeable I won't be able to have that glass of wine whilst cooking dinnerNever mind, I intend to go to the gym every lunchtime this week just for 20 minutes or so to make me feel I'm going in the right direction.
Have a good day, off to the shops now shoe shopping for my eldest, I wouldn't mind she doesn't want to come out with me (typical teenager), actually said could she go to the cinema with her mates instead and would I text her a picture of the shoes before I buy them just to make sure she likes them!!! Bluddy cheek!

Hi aliOK and good luck for today. I find that I get an allergic reaction to the niquitinCQ clear patches but I am ok with the 16hour nicorette patches. I tend to put them on my bum
as I dont like the sticky mess they leave behind on my arms ( is that too much information ? ).
Hi fieryblondescot - well done on quitting :T that program you are using sounds like the silk quit one I have. I am currently 11 1/2 smoke free and havent smoked 9 cigaretts, saved £2.37 and added 45 mins to my lifeIm sure you will be fine on Wednesday night. I have packed in a few times - up to 8 months and it didnt bother me when I was out with a non smoker. In fact since starting smoking again I hate going into smoky areas - weird

Well i finally quit the stinkerettes today, so that should hopefully save me well in excess of £200 a month, yes i know i was a heavy smoker...
We always seemed to be in our overdraft and truthfully it was my smoking that put us there. Its a great feeling just now knowing that there is lot of positives going to come out of this quit...
Anyway i will stop prattling on..
