It was and you should have said so!!!! If they ask that this avvo, tell em straight that that's an unfair question and you have no idea which you would pick until you saw the full T&C of both offers (it gets you off the hook ;)).

One trick I learned was to pause before you give any answer, even if you know what you are going to say. Looks as if you are giving the question due thought and can buy you some time if you don't know what to say :D

    Trying to help  :D

Thanks hun, I didn't want to sound rude cos she'd be my line manager, didn't wanna step off on the wrong foot :D

I think I made it clear that I was unable to make a decision till I'd had the other interview, just gonna keep my mobile off till I'm ready to say yes or no (that's if I even get it! Probably chucked a spanner in the works now though..)

Hiya Lucy, good to see you still on the straight and narrow :D I'm off out shopping later so I'll keep my eye out for you. Alternative would be to have a look on sainsburys/tesco/asda online shopping websites at the prices, they have the same offers as instore HTH x

oh dear, it was all going so well.................

I bought 10 at the lottery counter friday night and smoked the lot. Bought 10 more this morning..............going to start again tomorrow, new day new start. Still from 30 a day I felt I was doing great, just needed a little excuse like buying euromillions tickets and bang, it was just natural to buy some cigs. Really cross with myself but taking it as a lesson, next time he wants lottery he can get it himself!

can you not do a stop smoking program from the docs or pharmacy so the patches only cost a prescription? Think I'm getting 4 weeks worth for £6.70:confused:

Oh I see..........that's a shame, I think they wouldn't let us back for 2 years here now you mention it. Oh well still cheaper than ciggies even at full price I suppose.

    Afternoon all,

I'm not going to do personals for the pure reason I haven't time but need some advice, Laura, Lucy, TNG, Adz, I'll be back later to say 'hello'

Ok, so 20 minutes before interview no. 2, interview no. 1 (school job) rung me and offered me the position. They said due to experience I would be put on the highest pay grade but this still means I drop 12k a year  she did say though that they would look into a way of promoting me into Grade 4 as they know that money is my biggest issue in accepting. She wanted me to say yes there and then but I said it would be rude to cancel an interview 20 mins before and that I felt I should go anyway (she didn't sound happy :undecided:

Anyway, went for interview no. 2, the office was dead, nobody was talking to anybody part from 2 women up on end of of the office that I heard say the 'f' word 73 times in 10 minutes plus a scattering of 'c' words so I was instantly put off. Had the interview, went quite well I think as I've got quite a bit of experience that they need but they can't tell me until at least tomorrow. School wanted to know today so I've put my phone on divert

    Now pro's and con's:

School job, pro's: 10 weeks off work a year, lovely office, lovely people, fairly local.
    con's: money crap.

Council job, pro's: money better - still at least 5k less than I'm on now, opportunity to progress into whatever department I want to, working for the council is a good job, local.
con's: not sure about office environment and if I'll be happy, only get 22days off a year instead of 10 weeks ;)

    So....discuss...
