Hi all, thanks for the advice :)

Well, as I said, stuck the mobile on divert so they couldn't call me till I got the answer for interview no.2 at some time tomorrow (hopefully....), but forgot, my home landline number is on my CV and the head teacher phoned me at home (at 7pm!) wondering what I'd decided. I told her that I needed to speak to DH before I made a decision and that money is an issue. She said that I would be paid the highest bracket offered and she would do everything to make sure I got up to the next grade as soon as possible. She then said, don't forget all the holidays.....oh and the job satisfaction!

It was lovely to speak to her and I really want that job, just gotta pursuade DH now, only problem at time of writing Spurs are losing 4-2 to Aston Villa so he won't be in a talkative mood methinks :(

Hope you decided by now :)
  • Oh Jo I don't envy you the task but in my heart I hope you go with the school, I worked in schools (governor and library manager) and love it. Perhaps that alone is worth cutback???? Fingers crossed whatever you decide is what you want!!

    Thanks Adz & IDA :)

What a nightmare! I've left my mobile at home ARRRGHHH!! So the council job could ring anytime today and I won't know! What a plonker! I am really not at my best in the morning, I'm surprised I find my way to work some days!!

I managed to get to the station and ring DD1 from a payphone before she left for school and told her to give my phone to DH who's indoors today and to ring me if anyone rings, but the phone was on silent and I told her how to take it off silent but she was running late for school so panicking. Even if he has the phone it might not ring

Oh god, it's times like this that I wished I smoked, God knows why cos it doesn't help but I think it's just something to take your mind off the stress!

    ARGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH  :wall: :wall:

I feel so nervous, hate making decisions like this.

Back in March/April, I got a really good job working for a record producer (his PA don'tcha know...) and so handed my notice in. I cried throughout my entire month's notice and my boss ended up talking me into staying during my leaving do 'after' I'd just finished my last day and just before they handed me my leaving present!

I told the new boss I wasn't going to start the next morning (Sat), woke up Sun, felt guilty, rung old boss and said I was going to leave afterall, begged new boss to take me back which he did and started work at new place on Monday morning, absolutely hated every minute of the day, had horrendous travelling to and from new place of work experiences so got home rung old boss, begged him for my job back which he gave me and rung new boss and told him I wasn't going back....

As you can see I'm not new to the new job/old job/which job? debacle.... :(

IDA, oh I don't know, I don't even know if I've got job no. 2 yet. DH was no help at all so I feel a decision will be made by me alone then I'll get the flak for it if it doesn't work out as usual

The school are expecting me to ring today, which will be difficult as I don't have my mobile on me. The Head Teacher said that she is in meetings in London all day today and so I should ring the Officer Manager (who is totally lovely and was in my interview yesterday) this morning. I think I shall go out at lunchtime and find a payphone and speak to the OM and tell her that I would like to speak to the HT personally to discuss a couple of things, firstly I need to know exactly how much the next pay scale would be and how long she thinks it might be before I can get up to that stage (obviously if my performance allows!) - am I cheeky to ask this do you think? I need to plan and if it's a case having no money for a couple of months (even though xmas is round the corner ), I can live with that if I can get up on to the next scale fairly quickly. Also I was wondering, as it's not been mentioned, and I didn't think to mention it....apart from getting the school holidays off, do I get any other holiday? You may think what a bluddy cheek I have here, but what I mean is occassional days off for kids dental appts etc. as both my DD's are under specialist orthadontic care.

Wow my posts are getting longer....sorry :o

Can you tell I have a lot swimming around in the grey matter today?
