Mmmm interesting - I do wonder if a job in a school office may be just a little dull :rotfl: :rotfl: !! Now let me get this right you are still in the original job??? (Not the pa) and you actually like it - remind me why you want a new job or do you just like drama :rotfl: :rotfl: !! You know it brightens up a dull day!! But look how you're coping you may "want" a ciggie but you haven't "had" one!!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0

:rotfl: I am a PA but in my original job at the architects, been here 9 years this month! The reason I'm trying to find a new job is that my current firm moved from being local'ish to the other side of London meaning that I'm spending over 2 hours a day extra travelling so my kids are in bed when I get home
My current boss persuaded me to stay here because he was upset that I just decided to up and leave without telling him my concerns, so I gave up the other job (which I don't regret one bit) and have been here since the end of April (we moved out of the old office on my 'last' day so was very emotional - hence him talking me into staying :rotfl:)DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -
One thing to bear in mind with term time only jobs is that the pay advertised is generally pro-rata ie;
post advertised "scale 3 £20,250 pa" would actually be £20,250 divided by 52 (weeks) to find weekly gross (£389.42) multiplied by 42 (actual no of weeks worked) divided by 12 to find your actual monthly gross (£1362.97). I'm sure you know this and hope I haven't just confused you too much!!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0 -
I feel so nervous, hate making decisions like this.
Back in March/April, I got a really good job working for a record producer (his PA don'tcha know...:rolleyes:) and so handed my notice in. I cried throughout my entire month's notice and my boss ended up talking me into staying during my leaving do 'after' I'd just finished my last day and just before they handed me my leaving present!
I told the new boss I wasn't going to start the next morning (Sat), woke up Sun, felt guilty, rung old boss and said I was going to leave afterall, begged new boss to take me back which he did and started work at new place on Monday morning, absolutely hated every minute of the day, had horrendous travelling to and from new place of work experiences so got home rung old boss, begged him for my job back which he gave me and rung new boss and told him I wasn't going back....
As you can see I'm not new to the new job/old job/which job? debacle....

jo - seriously, make the decision that you can justify to yourself if it all goes wrong.
So long as you can say "well at the time it was the right thing to do", then no one, not even DH, can have a go at you for it.:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood :dance:0 -
