    Morning all,

So pleased everyone on here is still off the smokes, nothernmonkey I can't wait to say I've been off them for 16 weeks - this is day 14 for me - couldn't do it cold turkey though, well done.

Coolmum - well done not smoking on night out. I'm worried next week off to BBQ and EVERYONE going is a smoker - This will be the biggest test for me, I need to think to myself what nothermonkey said, why let it rule my life and wallet! Also next week I'll be 21 days off them so not putting all good work to waste.
My partner has fallen off waggon! He said that it's not the time for him yet, he also struggles with eating everytime he wants to smoke and worried about weight. Never mind, I'll support him for when it is the time for him to give up.
FieryBlondsScot - well done, sounded stressful in Oxford st and not giving in - as oops said, has you Mum ever considered giving up with you?
Jo - how did it go last night?
OOps, I can't believe how much you have saved - I was smoking roll ups so not sure how much I have saved - it all goes paying debt at the moment.
As Jo says, 1st July will be the day it'll be easier to go to pubs etc and no one able to smoke - I should be off the NRT by then yay!!
    All the best.

    Hi all you non-smokers!!!:hello:

Any chance I can join you? I've set my date for the 29th, gives me a chance to get through some stressful stuff at work then I can focus on quitting.

I am SO jealous of all of you. You're doing so well and I'm still puffing away and having a sore chest, smelly clothes and £40 less every month.

Anyway, I'd love to join you if that's ok.

Morning all, sorry I was awol yesterday had a manic weekend, but a smoke free one :D Day 7 for me today woohooo!!

FBS, well done not smoking on your trip up town :T , your poor mum must've felt awful lighting up. Maybe this will make her decide to give it a try too? I love Primark, gonna have to visit the Oxford Street one, I love the H&M up there too.

Oops, woohooo!! 14 days that's fantastic! :j Bet you never thought you'd get this far a couple of weeks ago?!

Vindadeen, you've done 14 days too! Well done! :T I'm sure you'll be fine at the BBQ next week, you will have notched up 3 weeks and so must think about that, you don't wanna wreck it. Take a pack of gum with you for after you've eaten.

ani*fan, so 29th is the day then! :D Look forward to hearing your progress, don't feel guilty about smoking and joining the thread here, you have to prepare yourself and you've set the date now which is the main thing, we're all here for you.

Well weekend started quite quietly, ds wasn't well so had to cancel my hair appt and stayed in doors most of the day. Was feeling pretty nervous about going out drinking on Sat night knowing that I'll probably want to smoke but at least I knew that my friend doesn't smoke so that was good. It actually went fine, I did want one after the meal but we were chatting so much that I quickly forgot about it. I actually had a harder day yesterday, its just the habit/association thing and knowing that I normally have a fag when I get in the car or walk to the station or out for a walk at lunchtime. Just looking forward to getting to the point where I've forgotten about it.

    Hope you're all well?

    Jo.

Took my first step and went to the chemist today to sign up for their 12 week programme. I got a wee pack full of information and a silver coin to put in my purse that says 'cash not ash'...a reminder in case I try to buy cigs!

I'm going with patches and can get 4 weeks worth for the cost of a prescription. Not a bad deal, eh? I tried cold turkey before but felt like I was going off my head and was smoking by 10.30am so hopefully these will help.

Well done everyone. You're all doing great. And I'll be joining you one week tomorrow! :D

Well done ani*fan, you've taken the first step!! Good luck, keep popping in in the meantime and get yourself prepared.

Can't post too much now, my boss is faffing around me, I'll pop back later.

    Hiya. Thank you for asking.

I've been lurking here but too ashamed to post.

Started smoking one, next day three, then have bought a pack of ten for the last few days. I hate myself.
I wake up in the morning and tell myself 'I'm definitely not having a fag today'. Get to about 1pm then stupidly go and buy a pack and think I'll 'just have one'. Haven't bought any today - no cigs in the house - had last one out of packet at 3.30pm (bought yesterday).
I've got Niquiten lozengers so will have to start quitting all over again tomorrow.

Many thanks to all here for support. We'll get there!

Only just spotted this thread, I would have joined earlier!

    Well done everyone!! :T

I had my last ciggie (check my sig..) on 20 March. I have smoked continually for the past 15 years but decided enough was enough. NO patches OR gum OR cutting down. I just went for it. Its been hard, some days are harder than others, but I am determined and haven't had a single one. I think I have broken the back of it now and with a saving of £100 a month, which means I can go from a 5 day working week to a 4 day working week, well, that was the incentive that I really needed.

Can't wait for 1 July. I'm not a big drinker so going to pubs doesn't really effect me but when I do go to a pub or a function, it will make it much easier for me.

I shall keep an eye on this thread. :)
