Comping is hard work - many unpaid or low paid hours if you aren't lucky! I do online surveys too but very little cash in those - though I like Pinecone research as I get sent loads of freebies to try for free inc top brand dishwasher capsules, washing powder, pet food, shampoos, cereal etc! And they pay per survey too!

One day you will say something I don't agree with. But it hasn't happened yet. :D I do exactly the same. I sometimes do others surveys, but ALWAYS do the Pinecone one, for the same reasons as you said. I've been send some great products to try out. Apart from it being free stuff, it's just such fun to test something for someone an be invited to give your opinion on it. I like Populus too. They pay directly to my Paypal account. It's not a fortune, but it's easy and it all helps.

  • I am glad I started this wee discussion on Comping moral Dilemmas, and thanks all for keeping it chatty not tatty!!
I may be a bit weird, but I find it very difficult to enter comps for food hampers- not sure whether it is a moral thing, just have an aversion to relish!!

Any other Moral dilemmas to do with comping- not necessarily which comps to enter or not, maybe a fb comp where you have shared a post 10's or 100's of times!!!!
And of course this is for fun- not for judgement.

I did sell lots of things I won so I could keep trying Ivf's, it wasn't the only way we could afford it,My hubby has a decent job in IT and what started me comping was to keep myself occupied after several losses,it soon became my escape from my upset and grief.

The wins I sold helped me feel less guilty I wasn't adding to our family coffers, the money also helped us have a decent standard of living whilst we paid for Ivf's and procedures, which in turn totalled over £30,000 by the time we had Jessica.

The comp wins themselves gave us holidays and luxuries we would never have had whilst we were continuously paying for private fertility treatment.

No regrets as I have my longed for ever so wanted Jessica.

Lovely - and the proof of the pudding is presumably your gorgeous avatar pic. Don't know how you did it. I had one go at IVF. It 'worked' in that I got pregnant, but then miscarried. Was sooooo painful, couldn't go through it again. Am thrilled it worked so well for you.

  • Sorry to hear that Blulu. I've never had to go through IVF but did have a miscarriage before I had my little girl who's now 10 weeks old. It was heart-breaking.

It's lovely to hear that some great things have happened due to comping! Paying for IVF, people getting to meeting and see celebrities and gigs they really wanted to go and see etc :T
