Anyone who starts their auction description with "Here we have for sale/auction..."
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
  • I guess they don't have time.

Most peole tend to list something for 7 days, plenty of time to wash it!
If they're lazy about washing it, what else are they lazy about - describing the item? Keeping their home clean & hygeinic?
I'm not sure I want to touch an item from someone like that.
If I'm buying something machine washable I'm perfectly happy to have to wash it before wearing if it means I get it a bit cheaper. I tend to wash secondhand clothes before wearing them anyway, even if they appear clean when received.

Yeah, I wash second hand stuff too.
But I just think if a seller has noticed their item is dirty, why wouldn't they clean it, rather than advertize to the world that they're lazy dirty beggars?!

I saw something yesterday that I really wanted. I was going to bid until I saw this ....IF YOU ARE THE WINNING BIDDER YOU MUST PAY WITHIN 48 HOURS OR YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO EBAY!!!
It put me right off. I would never buy from someone who comes across in such a seemingly aggressive threatening way.
I always pay immediately but someone like that would make me want to leave it until the fourth day........if I wanted to buy from them which I don't!

I wont buy from abroad.......but I'm finding some sellers from Hong Kong, China etc are now listing as being in UK but only because they have a warehouse here somewhere!

The best way to check is to look at their feedback page....where it says "member since......in......" If it doesnt say United Kingdom then I look for another seller.

The oddest phrase I found was

"I only sell items that I would be happy to receive myself".

Well given you don't know the person, what's to say they have no objection to receiving filthy tat?!?

Hmmmm......it says something very similiar to this on my ME page! :o

Does anyone actually message the vendor to tell them why they won't be bidding on an item?
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
  • Nah, don't see the point really. They might not take the criticism well & decide to take a look at your account.

No I agree why agitate a seller who you're never going to buy off. There are usually other people willing to bid on their items who will possibly get a good bargain.

  • Can't see it posted here yet and not seen it on eBay for a while but a listing posted with coloured font or worse, multiple coloured fonts.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Anyone who has L@@K in the title or description.
    Bad spelling.
More than 1 negative and their reaction to it.
Bad photos or not enough photos.
    Private listings.
    Saying "no returns".
A lazy description of the item, IE not enough detail.
    A reserve set.
    A high starting price.
    Under 10 feedback.

In fact I wonder how I ever manage to buy anything!
