  • If the description is poorly written, has bad spelling or leaves me with more questions than answers.

If the picture looks like it's been taken by a three year old with a wobbly hand.

If they have provided sarcastic or unhelpful follow up to negative feedback (negs in themselves don't put me off unless there is a pattern or it is clearly a scam account for example).

If they are a private seller who sells a lot of BNWT high street stuff - as they're probably a tax dodger at best and a serial shoplifter at worst and I don't fancy handling stolen goods!

If the item is based in Hong Kong as it can take months to ship.

I also prefer to buy second hand from auctions from genuine private sellers with good feedback as there are more bargains to be had this way than BINs from business sellers. Very few business sellers on ebay genuinely undercut better sites like Amazon, Play etc by that much and you don't have to deal with ebay's crazy policies about returns etc or have to deal with an illiterate or rude seller; both experiences are ones I have had and do not care to repeat!
  • People that say that things going missing is not their problem.
people that are mean i.e I am selling this because my girlfriend has put weight on and it doesn't fit any more,,,,,seen that a few times.
Someone that states that payment MUST be paid within 12 hours of ending. HA shows ignorance.
Cloths un ironed and on the floor.
Never use second chance if it comes through too quick.

I have posted a few things to Scottish Islands never had a problem.

I don't bid on small cheap items that are delivered by courier.

I prefer Royal Mail to deliver things. I know the approximate time the postman will call, so I can usually arrange to be in if I'm expecting a delivery. If I'm not in, and the postie doesn't leave it with a neighbour, the sorting office is very close so it's easy for me to pick the parcel up.

With a courier, they can arrive at any time of the day (or early evening) I'm never quite sure where they'll leave any parcel if I'm not in, and the courier delivery offices are always miles away.

I accept couriers for larger items, but for small parcels and packets, RoYal Mail is the way to go for me.

Oh yes this one makes me nervous too as they can prove unreliable and I really would not drive miles to the depots to collect an undelivered item.

Wow just wow. Looked at this item and changed my mind, don't think I will be bidding,I don't think we are allowed to post links....
BEFORE READING OUR DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM, PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE CONDITIONS WE HAVE, AS WE HAVE BEEN MESSED AROUND BEFORE.

You are bidding on a bundle of newborn babies clothes. New and Used items. Brands include Early Days / Baby Blue / Mothercare / NEXT / BHS / Morris Mouse. Material is Cotton on all items. Total of 15 items. 4 sleepsuits, 5 Bodysuits, 1 bottoms, 4 Tops, 1 Rompers, Absolute bargain at £10 starting bid.

I will only send this within the UK. All payment methods accepted, if paying by crossed postal order please let us know so we can keep a look out for it, cash on collection is also accepted if you are close enough to collect the item, once bidding has ended, I will include our postal address for you to send the payment or to collect once payment has cleared I will send the item as soon after clearance as possible (we both work extremely long hours.) I will retain proof of posting. It will be sent first class. This will be sent between two A4 pieces of cardboard in an A4 envelope. If we do make an error with the postage costs, we have been known to offer a refund. If there is a surcharge at the other end, please do not view this as our fault. We take EVERY SINGLE ITEM to the post office to be weighed and put through that little slot thing. We do not just send out items without taking it to the post office even if it will fit in the letterbox. They weigh it, they price it, they stick the label on, they take it. What happens at the other end is NOT our fault. We will do our best to help if there is a problem at the other end. We will send you out an envelope and ask you to send back the packaging within the envelope with the stickers etc, we will then give you a refund and then get our refund from Royal Mail. If you want it recorded delivery / special delivery, please ask us for this before the auction ends, therefore we will know to find out how much extra to charge you in postage before we invoice you.

I won't accept a return as this item is sold as seen we are honest as we can be with our descriptions.

Feedback will be given, once feedback is received.
If payment is not received within 5 days of sending the invoice (or our first contact if the item is for collection), we will relist the item and mark the item as an unpaid item dispute, we won't contact you to remind you of payment, as you have bid and won it is a legally binding contract, so you are aware that you need to pay. Sorry to do this, but there a lot of people out there who like to bid, but not pay. NO EXCUSES ACCEPTED.
    Any questions please ask.
    Thank you for looking.

Flipping heck it must be the free listing weekend bringing out these sellers, I'm genuinely looking for stuff but I will stop now!
There may be white dots on the picture this is due to the camera not the item. Items have been in storage for quite some time and are a bit dusty but nothing a quick wash can’t solve. Please do look at my other items as I am having a clear out. Grab yourself a bargain rock bottom prices need everything gone. I will combine P+P if more than 1 item is bought. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions J

    Delivery:

·I am not responsible for transit time –this is beyond my control
    ·Royal mail (4-6 working days/max 15 working days)
·I will provide you with proof of posting if required.

    Payment:

    · payment MUST be made within 3 days. If payment will be late please let me know. buyers who do not pay or contact me after the 4th day will be reported!

    Returns:

I will not accept any returns so please read the items description properly before you bid on my item.

    Feedback:

Feedback is very important thing for me. Could you please, leave feedback when you receive your item. I would like to know if the parcel has arrived safely and on time. If you are not satisfied, please contact me before leaving neutral/negative feedback, I will always make an effort to best resolve any concerns I may receive.

If you have any problems when you receive the item (which shouldn't happen as i am a honest seller) please contact me and i will try my best to sort out the issue as i want to keep my customers happy :) x

PLEASE NOTE: The P&P charge covers actual posting, packaging and my time to go and post the item. Also i expect when leaving me feedback to receive 5 stars for each question asked as if i get below 5 or 4 stars my account gets affected and could get shut down and i do not want this to happen as i have said i will sort any problems that may occur as i want my customers to be happy :) Thank you for reading.

Thank you for viewing my item

Please do look at my other items

    Happy bidding

    xXx

The terms quoted in post 56 are interesting. I read them to mean that they have lots of issues with wrong postage and are fed up when buyers expect them to stup up for extra.

There is no point in saying something like that unless you have a lot of issues and are the sort f seller who takes no responsibility

Urgh, if all the item needs is a quick wash, why doesn't the seller do this.
Someone openly admitting that their items are dirty would really put me off buying!

I guess they don't have time. If I'm buying something machine washable I'm perfectly happy to have to wash it before wearing if it means I get it a bit cheaper. I tend to wash secondhand clothes before wearing them anyway, even if they appear clean when received.
I've watched a few items that I thought might go cheap for reasons like poor feedback, photos with cluttered backgrounds and minimal descriptions, but other buyers seemed to have the same idea and I found most of these items selling for close to the prices I'd normally expect.
