  • Well I just want them to loose as much money as possible. If I had to pay them more money just to go bust then I would.

    If I can do anything to ruin them then I will. It's not about the money but the fact that they have taken the P out of me.

    I don't understand what you are on about with the post man pat picture.

    I'm going to pay Arena whatever it takes for them not to issue you with a refund then.

    "Quick update on 50% discount code. Our intention is to offer this to all affected customers, as we know this is a one-off problem and not the usual standard of service which we provide. We know that many of you are angry and disappointed but we hope that you will use this voucher to buy a really big bunch of flowers and help us to prove that we do stand for excellent delivery.

    However, MoneySavingExpert reviewed the offer and told us they thought it was inappropriate to send it to their readers and asked that it was removed from the communication sent on 14th"

    Did you REALLY ask Arena to exclude MSE customers from the 50% discount code - how would that possibly be helpful, people can choose not to use a voucher but for some it may save them money...


    UPDATE, response from Arena: "That's exactly what they told us. I'm surprised, too, which is why I didn't realise that it had been removed. Sorry."

    UPDATE 2, response from Arena: "The explanation that I've been given is that MSE didn't feel it was appropriate for us to appear to be selling more, despite the size of the discount. I hope that clarifies."

    Because MSE were probably negotiating full refunds or similar. There was likely not enough time to negotiate as Arena needed to email all those affected and didn't want to delay it longer. I doubt what Arena has posted is the full information and I would be interested in MSEs explanation before reaching a conclusion.

    But remember that MSE are stating that customers would get their roses plus full refund if cancelled (the article now says cancelled by Monday close of business) which is incredibly misleading and irresponsible as Arena have stated otherwise.
  • Exactly, we seem to be getting misinformation from all angles on this one - usually if something like this happens you would hope and assume that MSE would throw their weight in to do something like that but apart from the misleading post you mention it's very quiet from MSE towers.

    To be fair we are only getting misinformation from MSE which is being spread by some gullible readers who do not understand that their contract is with Arena and not MSE. This is Arena's !!!!-up, but incorrectly advising people who trust the article is shambolic from MSE.

    I'm not on FB. Has anyone posted a link to the MSE article on Arena's page there?
