Thank you. Seems like a rubbish system where they take your money then do what they like!0

Tyzap, I believe Norwegian are liable for the additional hotel cost under duty of care, due to the cancelled/delayed departure? The 14 days notice only applies to the compensation element. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide
The alleged Ringleader.........0 -
Hi, First time posting so hope you can help
My daughter booked a short trip to New York leaving gatwick on 29 June returning 3 July. Her outbound flight was cancelled and she was offered an alternative on 4th July. We found a flight out on another airline on 30 June.
My question is can she claim a refund for the cancelled flight and compensation for the lost day (inc NYC hotel bill) or if she claims a refund will she not get compensation?
Thanks so much

JP,
If the hotel was booked prior to the cancellation, no refund due.
If the hotel was booked as a result of the cancellation, refund is due:)Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
Ritafitz, welcome. You or your daughter need to download Vaubans superb guide.
Your daughter is due:
Additional costs for the rerouted flight on the 30th. And additional costs if hotel stay was required before the delayed departure, including food and non alcohol drinks.
No compensation for the lost night at hotel. This maybe covered by travel insurance.
Possible compensation for the cancelled flight, depending on the reason for cancellation. Vaubans superb guide will explain. But essentially unless it was an ATC or weather issue, an EC is unlikely. Please return for further help when required. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Historical Data for Flights
Hi All.
I am about to claim some compensation for a cancelled flight on the 25/6/18 my return journey of my holiday from Prague, when I remembered that the outward journey on 15/6/18 was delayed. We arrived at our final destination 5hrs late but I'm not sure how late our actual Airport (Budapest) arrival was. I'm pretty sure we would have arrived three hours later than scheduled, however I'm not 100% sure.
I have all the details for the cancelled flights on the 25th, but I've tried looking at some of the Flight data sites Flight Stats and Flightradar for the 15th, but they only show the last 7 days or so, you need to subscribe and pay if you want details beyond that. There's a seven day trial but I can't see how easy it is to cancel so I thought I'd check here first.
I know you're aren't allowed to use the data for the claim, but I wanted a reminder. I have my tickets etc to send with the claim anyway, so don't really need it, it's more out of interest. Anyone know? Thanks in advance.
The first flight below was delayed which meant we missed our connection, so were put on the next available flight from Munich to Budapest.

Hi Nad,
If you arrived at your final destination 5 hours late you will be due compensation. But then you say you're not sure!!
You need to be delayed by 3 hours or more to qualify. There is a big difference between 3 and 5 hours so I don't understand how this can be confusing.
It's confusing me I'm afraid.
Put your flight details into one or two flight delay calculators such as this one...
https://www.bottonline.co.uk/flight-delay-compensation/calculator
That will indicate if you have a valid claim.
Good luck. Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0
