Flight delay compensation, all other non-EU airlines

  • Any help on this would be appreciated -

Our Malaysia Airlines flight from Paris to Kuala Lumpur was delayed by 6 hours. I think we may be entitled to compensation under the EU rules. I have the template letter but have two questions:

As a family of four how much is my claim for?

Where do I send an email or letter (anybody find an address for the airline?)

    Thanks

    Alistair

Thank you. You really shouldn't have gone to so much trouble to help.

To be fair, this is a self-help forum. People will freely give up their time to help out, but if you want a no-effort-required spoon-fed response then a NWNF company is probably the way to go.

I'm no spring chicken so not necessarily the most technically savvy person but I do find it unbelievable how many people ask questions that take longer to type than a Google search that would give them the answer. And for someone to ask how much compensation is, well, that's just taking the mickey!

My questions may be easy-peasy (although this from the etiquette guide: There's no such thing as a stupid question) but I don't think you understand the concept of a self-help group. It is that each member helps where he or she can (where he or she has expertise) to the benefit of others and ultimately all. Not that everyone merely helps themselves - or else there would be no need to form a group really.

If I know something or find something relevant I just write it down in the answer. There is really no point in effectively saying "I found that in two seconds on Google" except to puff your own ego and belittle the other.

In fact I have a good idea to the best answer to each question now but would have been comforted if someone else had come up with the same answer, especially if that person had relevant experience. I guess this forum has changed since I first joined. I don't come here very often nowadays. I guess it will be even less in the future.

lectureal, it is shame you feel that way. But the combined years of experience is all here to be easily found.
Regular contributors do get tired of answering the same questions time and time again for people who can't be bothered or are unable to do the homework.
In which case a NWNF firm is the best route forward as this basic lack of knowledge/insight/aptitude means a claimant will get absolutely nowhere if they take legal action on their own.
If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

    Hi All,

I just wanted to let you all know that I have been successful in receiving Flight Delay compensation from Kuwait Airways for a 4 hour delayed flight to NYC in 2010. It literally took 2 weeks. I was a bit weary as Kuwait Airways does not have a great track record for customer service.

Has anyone else had any luck with Kuwait? I would be more than happy to assist if not. Total compensation paid was 1200 Euro’s each.

    Regards,

    SPMR.
  • Hey, It is good to listen form you that you are so lucky to get compensation so easily. Would you please tell how you come to know that you are entitled for delayed compensation and how much? I have checked mine at Tripmole, But I want to be sure about if I am getting right information or not. Thanks!
