    Hi Vauban,

I know $6000 is a great deal but at the moment I am not in the position health wise or financially wise to travel to America within the next year.

    HI everyone,

Got this email when i returned home this morning.

    Dear Ms. ******:

Without prejudice to our position, United agrees to pay compensation in the amount of EUR600 per passenger for a total of EUR2400. Please sign and forward back to me the attached agreement. I will process payment once this is received.

    Regards,

Can I check with you one thing.... Does this compensation thing only apply to outwards going flights (from EU) or does it cover return flights too?

I've just realised I still haven't heard back from Delta! Is there any way of actually contacting them and getting a response? I have sent a letter and emailed.

    Hi Al1x,

Thank you. It wasn't until the court served the papers on United that I actually got an email address to contact and speak to someone. I would suspect that Delta will be the same the only way to contact them is through their web site.

I have had fun spending the money and booked myself a wee holiday in September to Spain.

An added bonus is I asked what I was to do with the $800 I had been sent from United in travel vouchers and I was told I can keep them and use them as a goodwill gesture. So a wee trip to My sister in laws condo in Florida is on the card for February.
