Why Is There Not Much Help For Binge Eating Disorder (and if there is, where is it?)

Oops, have you tried dried fruit? Urban Fruit (sold at Mr A's) do lovely dried strawberries and cherries with no sweeteners or sugars other than those present in the fruit.

I tried hummus but it crippled me with wind and it was so painful!
I have kept myself busy and the urge for a binge seems to have disappeared!
The dark circles are probably something to with being a mum and up for the last few nights (or as long as you've had children??). Big up the mums, it's a hard job! (I'm not a mum).
I love hummus but if it doesn't agree with you, stay away from it!
I went to holland & barratt and bought peanut butter and dates, I know I shouldn't have sugar but it's gotta be better than a choc bar? I've just eaten some, hopefully that will keep me going until dinner in 2.5 hours, not that I'm counting!0 -

The only dried fruit I have is sultanas in my cereal bars. I always thought they were full of sugar so have kind of avoided them. I'll check out those you mention.
Does anybody know the best place to buy nuts/seeds?0 -
I just put a packet of wholegrain microwaveable rice in the microwave, added a can of chickpeas, pesto and grated cheese with a glass of orange juice.
I really that is not balanced, needs fish perhaps but its the best I can manage right now.
Fire Fox what do you think of hemp oil and hemp seeds?
oh hugs back Fire Fox, i realised when you replied to my post I needed a hug!0 -

Ooh I love dates.
And yes, the dark circles are definitely a mum thing...my eldest is 18 this year so I'm used to them now!! I think it's also just part of me - I have really pale skin so anything shows up.0 -
I have very pale skin too! and I'm anaemic so look like a ghost until I put foundation on. Can't leave the house without it or I look ill, even wear foundation at the gym, so sad!
Soph, dinner sounds good but maybe just a small orange juice in future or water it down? Just because of the sugar and no fibre to slow it down, then it hits your blood stream and sugar levels can spike and fall (I'm aiming for even blood sugar, that's my dream).
I don't want to criticize your dinner - wholegrain rice is good, the chickpeas are good, pesto yum, cheese yum, can you cook on the hob or do you just have a microwave? I use mine occasionally but always have an unsure feeling about it!
Enjoy your dinner everyone, 2 hours til mine, I hope my hubby cooks the lamb steaks in the fridge and steams some brocolli and makes some couscous or I'll have to do it and I'm sure I'll be crawling on the floor by the time I get home!
I love my life really

I have never tried wholegrain rice (I don't think) - I tried wholegrain pasta and didn't like that much.
I also think that this journey is going to be a long one so I wouldn't worry about your meal. If it's what's there and is what you fancy, then so be it. One thing I have learned from reading all the books I have read is that we must get away from the 'diet' mentalility. So not to beat yourself up if your meal is not the best it could be. Now although I have said all of this, doesn't mean I actually follow it myself yet but that's what I'm aiming for.
When you mention hemp - what do you mean to use it for? I only have it in my body shop hand cream and lipbalm!0 -
Yes should have had less juice, I did have it because it tastes nice and I think I feel happier as a result.
I was actually planning on switching all my cooking to the microwave, my friend showed me how I could cook everything in the microwave, fish takes 4 minutes, just need oil to stop it drying out.
Vegetables she microwaves. Microwave courgettes and add vinegar to make a courgette salad, she showed me this over the weekend, tasted great.
Mine was microwaveable rice in a packet so rather processed but better than chips from the chipshop i figured.
I meant hemp oil for eating and in salads, and hemp seeds in my porridge.

Hemp Oil, quite pricey at Holland & Barratt, it says its good source of Omega 6, I think we need Omega 3 and 6 don't we?

Here's some info about benefits of hemp seeds, it says its a good mix of omega 3 and 6 and the seeds can be added to smoothies

Hi soph, glad you feel happier after your dinner and juice, that's the main thing.
If you're happy to microwave then that's great, the quicker it takes to cook a good meal the less chance of bingeing on crappy stuff!
