You know ive never ever been on a cross trainer....are they good fun, hard workout? Not that I go to a gym so I guess I wont get to use one.
The CT is one of the best bits of kit in the gym. You can put a bit of pace on and burn of calories, without ever really straining your joints and tendons. No impact whatsoever...Bliss!!John

Hands up who got injured at the footie?
[Sheepishly raises his hand]
How you manage to strain both your calf and hamstring in a single hour and a half kickaround I dunno!!

Hi
I really want to run a 10k race. At the moment, I can do 30mins on a treadmill at 10km/hr. I'm dripping with sweat (sorry) and out of breath when I finish that - but I try to do it four times a week. It doesn't seem to get any easier though.
Do you have any suggestions how I can build it up over a reasonable period?0 -
Do you do other cardio exercise at all?
How about running away from the treadmill, giving yourself a bit of variation?
I'm crap at running, but i'm sure the others with have a few good suggestions for you

Interval training.
Set 2 speeds on the treadmill. Your 10K speed and a sprint speed. Alternate beteen the 2 and you will reap the cardio benefits.
