    Morning all!

Well, didn't manage 50-60 miles on Saturday, managed about 42 though, so not a complete loss...I was a little bit late leaving, so couldn't get the milage in (I may, or may not, have reversed my car over the front wheel on my bike...) - had a rest day yesterday, with just a couple of weights in the evening - doing the same today, get myself rested for footy tomorrow.

    What's everyone else scheming today?

Well done on the cycling mate.

I'm off to the gym shortly for a cardio session. Supposed to be playing 5-a-side tonight but it's my anniversary so we'll see if I'm allowed! ;)

I doubt it though as I forgot this morning and just strolled out the house. No doubt I'll pay for that later!

WOW, you must have been working like mad in your house and garden yesterday G-G! That is well impressive! (And a heck of a workout I'm sure).

Well done on the mile run Misspointy :T and the masssssive 42 miles on Saturday Idiophreak! Hi John - sounds like it was a good weekend for you?! :D

I'm feeling good today and I think I will take a shot at that new personal best time for the 5km before lunch! I want sub 30 minutes, and I'm going to plot a new route around the streets in a minute (I usually run on grass but my previous best was set on tarmac - the route was terrible though ).

    Hey Missy.

Tarmac is terrible for the joints I find!

I must admit I let myself down this weekend - But it wasn't my fault honest;)

Friday was a guy's leaving 'do' at work. It was only a few drinks after work, which I was going to avoid, until it turned out that hardly anyone was going due to other commitments - So I had to show face! I only had 3 glasses of champers and made a sharp exit. The Missus then got a bottle of wine in (although I asked her not to previously), so I had to help her drink that! And after a busy, hot day shopping yesterday I had to treat myself to one beer and she then produced another bottle of wine which I had to help her drink!

Oh and then I missed the gym this morning as I didn't sleep well - Prob due to booze and how it effects your sleep!

I give myself an E for this weekend with a 'must try harder' remark!

Still - Off to gym in half an hour for possibly my only session today. Back in the saddle tomorrow:)

    [Hangs his head in shame]

Is wine actually that bad for you? It's gotta be way better than beer at least, surely?

I almost had a good weekend food wise - just let down by a pint of shandy and half an apple turnover...darn it!

    Hey everyone!

Well, I wasn't much better at the weeken, didn't do a massive amount of hard cardio as planned, and I ate Haagen-Daaz on friday, and a small chinese meal on saturday.. :o Plus some choccy!

At least I know my weak spots now, going to really try and not give in to the rubbish this weekend.. I feel awful for eating it all, physically I mean.. Tired and bloated.. :(

Good news though, OH has said he will get me gym membership at the health centre we used to go to.. they have a nice gym, swimming pool and classes.. :) and it's just under 3 miles away, so I plan to cycle there eventually :D

    Good Luck to everyone else!

& Idiophreak.. what the hell did you do to your bike?

John as long as you enjoyed yourself there is absolutely no shame in letting your hair down for a weekend! :D We may be keen exercisers but there is still more to life!

I don't drink, but my weaknesses are my holidays. While my meals are still fine and healthy, I enjoy daily snacking on sweets and other goodies which I just don't do at home! I gain weight on holiday then lose it on my return - so no harm done :)

I also don't drink.. god forbid the weight gain if I enjoyed drink aswell..

As long as I continue to lose weight, then I think I can afford one or two treats a week, as long as i'm exercising :)

Oooooh holidays! Wish I could go snowboarding for a few weeks in Canada, i'd burn thousands of Kcals a day!

Hmm, yeah, it didn't really enjoy it very much...

I took the front wheel off and popped it by the side of the car, while I lifted the rest of the bike into the boot...then I jumped in and reversed over it (in fairness, I was in a hurry...)

Amazingly, the wheel itself was unhurt, aside from the *slightest* of bends and a couple of scuffs. The quick release skewer, however, was utterly foked - as was the disk for the brakes...(shows that I really did run right over the middle of the thing...credit to the strength of the wheel, i reckon) - got a new skewer on saturday and should pick up the new disk tomorrow...had to run rear-brake only on saturday...I'm hoping it's one of those expensive mistakes you only make once... :)

I had a look at my chain and sprockets and they look a bit knackered, and the gearing is totally wrongly set up.. gonna take it to Halfords I think..

It's far better than beer, partly because it doesn't bloat you up with the fizz and air!

It still contains 500-600 calories per bottle though!
