Good metabolism I think, not sure how old we all are using this thread but has anyone found it harder as they have got older with regards to calorie intake and weight gain. Im often told wait till you hit forty then you'll gain weight!!
I'm 25 - I hit 21 and it was all downhill from there
Does anyone know a site with a breakdown of the healthiest alcoholic drinks?
I'm thinking whiskey and water's gotta be pretty safe, surely0 -

Hey everyone! Well done on the days / weeks achievements!
Isn't it great when we finally start seeing results!
I'm 25, just turned it aswell in May
I seem to be able to gain weight really easily, but I can also loose weight really easily aswell.. I wish it was more stable, but it's not.. As long as I exercise plenty then it's fine
Just been to Halfords to get the mountain bike fixedHe adjusted the gears on it and said to make sure i'm pushing the gear lever in properly when changing gears. The thing is, the level to change down a gear is really long.. and you have to really twist your wrist to get your thumb to push the level all the way.. (is this normal?)
Gonna take it for a spin either today or tomorrow.. not feeling too good today, so i'm gonna take it steadyBSC Member 155

I'm a bit older than you lot it seems
Never had to worry about weight until a few years after my son was born and then it crept on rather slowly, I never used to weigh myself so I didn't even notice at first. When I did notice, I dealt with it straight away and here I am, fitter and lighter than I've ever been in my adult life
I like the cross trainer Misspointy, I find it a bit more of a workout than an exercise bike and you can crank the tension up or down like you can with most equipment. Whenever I go on I do an equal amount forwards and backwards. If I could only have one piece of gym equipment, that's the one I'd probably keep0 -
I hope I'm gonna be fitter than I've ever been in 6 month or a years time..
I havn't done too well today though, just not feeling like doing anything..
I have had my bike done though, so tomorrow morning i'm going to go out on it I reckon& then start on the weights again
I'm going to be going badminton one night this week, and snowboarding on friday night, it's a park session, so lots of rails and jumps, which always gets the adrenaline pumping and the calories burning3 or 4 hours of that and your legs are shattered!
I have also said to OH that I want to go and play tennisNot played in years, probably last at Centre Parcs a few years ago..
I'd like to do the following more often:
Badminton, Snowboarding, Tennis, Squash, Football, mountainbike. All apart from football I can do, (don't have anyone who likes footy here) I used to play loads with my step brother when I was younger..
I was thinking of the sports centre 5 a side teams.. if I put an advert up on the noticeboard to girls / guys to join up for a weekly session of the 5 a side, for amatures.. do you think that would be worthwhile? I've not organised anything like that before you see, and i'm a bit nervous, but i'd love to give myself more chances of playing team sports..BSC Member 155

Whereabouts do you go boarding G-G? Do you have a snowdome or is it dry slope?
I think I need to go for a ski sesh soon. I want to learn to board too, but I'm waiting for my son to be old enough so that we can have lessons together. He can start this September0 -
Well done John and G-G!
I'll add to today's list of achievements by posting my new personal best for 5km run!:j 28 mins 22 sec :jWell chuffed with that! While I was warming up on the cross trainer I was wondering - John, you might know the answer to this - when you measure distance travelled on the cross trainer, what is it supposed to represent?Obviously the treadmill represents running distance, and exercise bike is the distance you would have travelled if you were cycling.... but what's the cross trainer measurement based on?
I think it's distance travelled again missy. Lots of Ct's flash up meters climbed etc on a different little screen. This would lead me to believe that the main screen is for distance. That's what I've always budgeted for anyway.John

I'm 28, 29 in a week (shhh!!)
I find that when I have a weekend session (particularly with beer), I retain the water and 'bloat' out for a day or two.
Maybe I should heed the warning and steer clear of beer. Either that or get used to being a bloater!! :rotfl:John
