Well done G-G on your bike ride. Ive been at work this morning so have done no exercise apart from the plank earlier on. lol.
Gotta take the hound out soon.....so I may run a bit with her. Its a pain though cause if she poos i have to run along carrying scooped poop!

Aww bless ya.. and I was just dreading the running.. I didn't factor in running with doggy poop :p

Just had some fresh pasta with poached eggs.. strange combination I know, but it was pretty yummy :)

I'm planning my first run.. I think I will do it tonight.. I was thinking just starting with 1/2 a mile? What do you think? Otherwise I just end up walking and giving in :o

    I like that - Don't overdo it folks...I'm off for a 3Km cycle;) (again!!):p

3km? Wash your mouth out! :rotfl: It was 28 (supposed to be 30, but looks like I measured it wrong on Map My Run the first time). It started raining near the end so like a girl I stopped and I'll do something else later. Not happy with that route, too many idiot drivers, so I need to map out something less busy. Not saying all drivers are idiots by the way (I am a driver myself), but some roads seem to bring out the worst in some of them

Well done on your first bike ride of the new you G-G! :T Get that chain sorted out soon, you can't be dealing with that all the time :) No shame in doing a walk/run at first by the way, that's how we all start. When you need to stop running, just go down to a brisk walk.

When I run its always 'eyes down for a full house', anythings better than running with carrier bags on my shoes!

Couldn't agree more, I try to avoid roads as much as possible - are there many decent bridleways round your way?

The route I've mapped tonight has the first 9 miles onroad...not really looking forward to it, but they aren't bad roads, not too many idiots and it's the quickest way to get to where I'm going - then I'll hit the bridleways for the mostpart on the way back...

You should get down the bike shop, G-G and see what they say about the chain...has your bike been serviced lately? It could be that a tune-up would sort the problem, or you could need links taking out of the chain, or maybe a tensioner applied...

Idiophreak.. well, I built the bike myself from the box from Halfords, and to be honest the gear shift on the chain isn't right at all.. It seems to be jumping out of gear, and when I put lots of force on the pedals it skips..

    It's a £400 bike, so it's a decent one, I just think I didn't set it up properly..

Actualy when I did set it up and took it out for a test ride down my street (couple of years ago), I hadn't put the brake cable out of the way and it got stuck in a hole in the front brake disc.. I got a seat inbetween my shoulder blades, the most almighty stoppy, but luckily didn't actually come off ! :o

Hence, i'm no expert at building mountain bikes.. :o

    Oh, the insults!

I love building stuff... My perfect day would be a whole load of flat pack furniture! :o

I could do with getting it fixed though, especially if i'm going to be using it a lot.. Maybe Halfords can do it for me?
