    Oh, the insults!

I love building stuff... My perfect day would be a whole load of flat pack furniture! :o

I could do with getting it fixed though, especially if i'm going to be using it a lot.. Maybe Halfords can do it for me?

Some perfect day that you nutjob!! :rotfl:

Idiophreak.. well, I built the bike myself from the box from Halfords, and to be honest the gear shift on the chain isn't right at all.. It seems to be jumping out of gear, and when I put lots of force on the pedals it skips..

Do you lube the chain frequently? If it has a couple of sticky links it could do this kinda thing...It could also be caused by the chain stretching, but this doesn't normally happen until you've done a few thousand miles on the bike...

Do you feel confident enough to tinker with the gears themselves and get them running smoothly? Just makes life *so much* easier, anyway...

Couldn't agree more, I try to avoid roads as much as possible - are there many decent bridleways round your way?

I've not checked out bridleways for cycling Idiophreak. We have quite a lot around here but from what I remember they're the very soft/sandy type. I will investigate though - thanks!

There are quieter roads and lanes too so I should be fine. This is the first time in a while that I'm going out on longer 20km+ rides, so it's just a case of trying different routes and ruling out the nasty ones as I go along :D

G-G it sounds like a bike service would sort everything out. I don't think I'd trust myself to put a bike together (and I'm not bad at assembling things) so kudos to you for building it! :D You're doing great so far. Don't forget to schedule rest days will you :)

I want to run this evening and test my new trainer insoles but it all depends whether my son will come with me - and that probably depends on whether his friend wants to come too...

Hey missyg - I had a nice rest day yesterday and so i'm gonna do more tomorrow and then have a rest day again on friday I reckon.. :)

Am pretty pleased with myself today, done everything I wanted to, which is an achievement in itself!

Had some lovely wild alaskan salmon fillet for my dinner, with a little bit of wholemeal organic crusty brown bread.

I also got a mini bar of organic 70% cocoa dark chocolate.. :) Only about 6 squares, but i'm really struggling with the chocolate cravings and so I thought this may help a little :) I don't normally do dark chocolate, but i've heard it's better for you and you don't want to eat as much :D

Going to take the dogs out in the morning tomorrow, and go out on the bike again (if my bum isn't too saddle sore! :o )...

Hey Idiophreak.. thanks for the suggestions..

One thing's for sure, I havn't done a few thousands miles on it :o

I will have a look tomorrow, I think it has something to do with the metal part that moves next to the chain when you change gear.. I will have a look at it later tonight I think, see what I can do..

I got oil everywhere from putting it back on all the time :p

Cool, good stuff G-G! I have done 1 mile run this evening and a little bit of cycling with my son :)

Tomorrow is a rest day for me guys, the most I'm allowed to do is 30 mins wii fit! If anyone spots me doing more than that you must yell at me! :D

Friday I'm going for the mini triathlon, weather permitting :)

    ooooh, what's the mini triathlon?

I took the dogs out in the end.. 1.5 miles cross country walking :D was shattered when I got back :o walked with my neighbour for a bit, as he was out aswell, which was nice as I hadn't spoken to anyone all day! :(

I'm now enjoying a well earned mini bar of green and blacks choccy.. :) and watching Hollyoaks :p

Gonna do some more weights later, and some sit ups..

Oh, and I tried to do a press up earlier and nearly did one!

    Soon my pretty's, soon! ;)
