& yeah, I was thinking of a Wii Fit, but at £250 I don't want it to be another thing that sits on the shelf like exercise DVDs..

Just back from the second gym session today. After the footie yesterday and today's efforts I'm walking too much like John Wayne for my liking. And NO I didn't use the gym showers before the jokes start to fly!!

Did 7.5Km's on the cross trainer in 35 minutes and a 10 minute jog to finish off.

Remind me again why I started this get fit lark??!!

I wanted to go gym! But OH is off camping tomorrow and has had to go and get stuff for his motorbike etc, so i'm stuck at home taking parcel deliveries! :(

I will try and think of some cardio work to do in my lounge..

What do we think guys and gals? Star jumps?

Yeah, I want to get a skipping rope.. I could do it in the garden! :p

I read that 10 mins of skipping is the same as doing an 8minute mile run..

Right, off to look online for one!

    What's the Wii fit like??

Just thought I'd add my "blokey" perspective on this...

Wii fit is pretty good, but sadly I get the feeling it is (like most things wii) a great idea that's just not been done well enough....

I've not done many of the yoga and strength exercises, but have done a fair bit of the balancing and a fair bit of the cardio...

The balancing is brilliant, expecially the skiing and snowboarding - but I'm getting frustrated...I can do the 2 courses pretty well and want more....longer runs, different courses and - more importantly - better times to beat. Maybe I've missed something here, as I've only done a few hours at my sisters place, but I really don't see what would keep me coming back if it weren't for the high scores her bf keeps putting up...I've not seen any kinda leaderboards, any target times etc (well, aside from the 1,2,3,4 * thing)...just nothing to inspire me to play it on my own, I don't think.

The same is true with the cardio - this can be *absolutely crippling* (far moreso than I was ever expecting from the wii) when you're trying to beat a good score (especially the hoola!) - but if you had all the high scores, not sure how motivated you'd be to keep pushing.

Similarly, I want to be able to race - or at least compete - against someone else, but there's no support for a second board...

In summary, the game feels more like a demo than a full game...just not enough depth...

The "fitness age" testing and the exercise log etc are pretty sweet, though...but you can do these with a set of scales and mapmyrun for £250 less...

Don't know if it's been suggested to you before, but look out for a Tae Bo DVD - the 8 minute workouts (iirc) are incredibly intense and really whip you into shape - all from the safety of your lounge :)
