Well done HM :T , you should be very proud of yourself for making a stand, but don't let hm "soft-soap" you by sounding sorry and ashamed of himself, make sure he actually comes through on the promises he's made.
It's true (as someone else said) - the remaining debt should be paid off by him, then you can both start to look at the rest of your finances as equal partners!
I do hope you give up one of your jobs and spend more time with your family. Actually it could work out financially as well, since if you're home more, you tend to buy less convenience foods etc, making a hefty saving on your bills.
Good luck for the future

Hello
I am so glad that things have worked out for you and you are heading in the right direction. I wish the best of luck!
One thing I would say though is think carefully about giving up work, maybe keep one job - its good to have your own independence and have your own money in, even if you just end up saving it.
Keep us updated! x0 -
Just wanted to say I am so sorry that your lovely day ended up causing grief further down the line.
Trying to be fair - maybe he thought if your parents hadn't offered to pay the two of you would have gone for something simpler and not spent so much.
Ok attempt to be fair over - things do go wrong and it's childish to say they have to pay for it anyway
Maybe once he's had a chance to think a bit more he will stop acting as if other people are trying to sabotage his efforts to be safe. Once he appreciates fully how focused you have been in paying off as much as you have he will see how much better things could be if you pull together.
I do hope this is the start of better times for youIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0 -
