Up date on the HB CTB front. We left home early, we knew there was a problem in the city and accident right where we were supposed to be going. Ended up getting off the bus and walking.

We had made an appointment, so were given a number, had only just sat down when we were called.................and it was an English Gentleman who was so helpful. I gave him the papers and explained everything to him, he said ' well this is just a warning that you have been overpaid, the investigation will be ongoing' ok, but why when our pension has only gone up by XYZ were there no HB allownces for a whole month last year????? he started going through the info on the computer and got to OH, oh my he said you have a lot of pensions.............really???????????tell us more, OH gets state pension, along with GP and something else which we get all in one lump sum every week......but they are entered on the system as seperate pensions!!!! He then has a Civil Service pension and a very small pension from Scottish Widows..............the chap went through the amounts weekly.....oh oh.......here it says that you get £174 a week from the Civil Service........PARDON!!!!! divide that by 4 and you might be about right....some stupid chuff had enetered OH's CS pension as £174 a week for 4 weeks last year..hence we were not entitled to any benefit........wrong.......its £174 A MONTH.....times it by 12 and divide by 52 thats what we get a week.........oooooooooooooooppppppppppppsssssssss

We do still owe them a bit but its half what they were asking for and the CT repayment will also go down plus we were underpaid so we get that back....why cant they just take it off what we owe........oh no the computer cannot cope with that!!!!

So all in all I was very glad I decided to challenge the letter we got........the chap did say that we would eventually have got it sorted as the accounts are audited twice a year.....ut in the mean time the council would have been clawing back from me money I did not owe them and getting interest on it!!!! Not Likely..............

Had soup and toast for lunch, then a quick run to the library and Tesco for some bits for next week and book to read whilst we are away.

HM fish and chips for supper, tomorrow I have to visit my friend and sort out her camera for her, then start on my baking for the trip..........

Enjoy your evening.......................think I might just open a bottle of wine a small celebration is called for...................

Infact my teeth have just starting hurting again - ow, ow, ow!!!!

I always go dizzy and have sore teeth just before a sinus infection.....get to the docs quick.

Had a really boring day - realised that I've actually spoken to the grand sum of 3 adults this week - only 2 in person, the other on the phone.

I've gutted the living room, dusted, swept, washed, buffed, shined and rearranged......5 mins later the parrot has a flap around and there's dust everywhere again - why do I bother!

Off to get DD's uniform tomorrow - the uniform shop is about 40 miles away...why couldn't they have picked a closer stockist? All in all it's going to cost around £190 just for the uniform and p.e. kits - already made a start on all the books and sports equipment. Luckily DH's step dad has given us a cheque to pay for the lot. :j Just a shame that DD's birth father or paternal family haven't even bothered to send her a card to congratulate her on getting in to Grammar school, let alone offered to pay towards the uniform.

Got a MS job to do tomorrow too, one of our favourite ones too as we all get to do "it" and eat :D

The rest of the weekend will be spent gardening if the weather holds.

    Hugs to those in need.

Hi - CSARINA - well done for sticking to your guns! I love it when one of us has a triumph over the one of the 'big boy bullies'! I'm delighted for you and hope you really enjoy your wine! You've got something to celebrate!
ANNIE - you poor thing! I wish I could do something. It's probably too late to phone Lloyds now but I would write a letter explaining that life is really difficult at the moment and that you genuinely forgot to pay the CC. If you usually pay it on time they would have to have hearts of stone not to understand. They can waive the late-payment charge and I would also ask them to freeze the extra interest. Good luck. And, how dare anyone call you a 'stupid girl'? I wish we could all go round there and sort her out. Things MUST start getting better for you soon - we're all thinking of you.(((hugs)))
POOKY - WE all think she's great for getting into Grammar School - that's something to be really proud of. (((hugs))) to her and your DH's stepdad sounds like a lovely man!
AMIE - hope things have gone as well as they can for you.
SAMSAM - have you heard from the duty doctor yet?

    Evening everyone.

Hope everyone had a good day. Hugs to anyone who hasn't (anniestar xxx).

Nice to see FIL earlier, we get on well. He's offering us a lot of help at the moment with moving house, don't know if we should take it, long story etc but a lot of decisions to make and it's keeping me thinking too much  I guess if things are meant to happen they will? I keep telling myself that to stop thinking too much.

Going to a hen do tonight, not an L plate type one, quite civilised. Meal etc (a restaurant I really like too), it will be nice I think. Looking forward to having a drink or too aswell ;)

Hope everyone is looking forward to bank holiday weekend. Tomorrow we're doing lots of house stuff as we will be putting this house on the market in the next couple of weeks, we have a wedding on Sunday and will do more house stuff on Monday.

Hope everyone has a good weekend x

with everything imploding I haven't paid my CC( irionically have the money just kept forgetting easily done at the mo)

<<annie>> Keep a piece of paper somewhere central where you can easily reach it. Every time something comes in which needs to be dealt with, write it down, along witha "do by" date. One thing per line. Cross them off as you do them, and check the list each morning to see if there is anything urgent that needs to be done that day.

I find that when I'm going through a "my brain is full" phase it's the only way to cope. Don't fall into the trick of thinking you won't forget, because you will ..and then you'll feel useless for forgetting.

The headteacher calling you a "stupid girl" is unforgivable, whatever the circumstances. I would recommend that you write down what you want to say before you phone and complain. Otherwise you may find that your mouth takes over the conversation and you can't stop yourself

(I found that the other day when asking my neighbour - for the third day running - to get their visitor to move the car which was blocking my drive. I started off asking politely, but they didn't seem to want to get a wiggle on, and I lost my temper a bit - and in doing so, I lost the high ground and sounded like a crazy old b*tch.)

Once you've written it down, then practice saying it out loud before you phone. Reason for this is that it always sounds perfect when you practice in your head, but when you try and say it outloud it doesn't always come out as you mean it to IYKWIM.

    <hugs> again xx

    Hi, it's FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! :j :j :j :j

I'm really ready for the weekend. Another tiring day at w*** with the LOs.
Tonight it's lazy tea which will be frozen pizza and chips followed by chocolate. :D
DD2 is at a football picnic party in the park until 6:30pm. She and another girl in the class are the only females to be invited as they are both real tomboys. So she left the house wearing her England goalkeeper's footy kit and her shin pads. DH is taking her to the shops to buy some football boots tomorrow. I suppose she is the son we'll never have! :rotfl:
I grew up with 2 older brothers and was a real tomboy. Unfortunately my mum wouldn't dream of letting me wear a football kit and tried to keep putting dresses on me! After having 2 boys she was desperate for a girl and ended up with me! :rotfl:
    Have a great evening.

Moggins Congratulations on the 'little' arrival.

Amie399 Sorry about your mum. Is there any way that you can have a belated party for her?

anniestar Hope things improve for you soon.

Boing boing boing why did I buy the kids a trampoline!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now they are arguing over turn taking.

Bad weather forecasts for the weekend, relieved in a way as DS2 disappearing all the time when playing out is driving me mad aswell.

Hope those who haven't popped in are ok.

MRsmix hope your dd is better soon, no need to feel guilty, I think most parents have made decision on what to do for the best and then when thing escalate unexpectedly felt a little guilty. It's nature, we don't know what will happen, just have to do our best. Amount of times I have took the kids and they have said wait and see how it goes then come back, no doubt yours would have done the same. Saying that aswell, you'd be lucky to get to see a GP within a fortnight round here.

I didn't know what a bean was until I looked at that, looks rather bizarre! What on earth do you do with it?
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
