  • Good morning all :hello:

I have been here reading the thread but only on my phone and I find it's too fiddly to post on the phone. Anyway, got lots of flying done last week and had a really busy and enjoyable weekend but came to a complete stop yesterday! Got my DD's out of the door for school (DH did school run) then lounged around drinking tea and reading all morning. I didn't get dressed until lunch time :othen spent afternoon doing the daily stuff, S&S, 5 min room rescue and baking some chocolate chip cup cakes :D I'm know I'm lucky to have the time to do that without the house falling into complete chaos and it's regular flying that really helps :j

Going to have a look at the list to see what I have done and what needs to be done and then I must get on with some studying....

PS LW - your visitor sounds like a little old lady needing a pee every 5 mins lol, you sound like a lovely dog carer x
She is a little old lady - just with four paws and fur. lol. She's 15 years old, as far as they can estimate (she appeared to be about a year old when she adopted her family).:o She had me up at 03:00 this morning *waves to HB * wanting to go outside. <YAWN>
Yes, I could've got Mr LW to see to her, he would have done it without complaint, but he was fast asleep, and I didn't like to disturb him as he has the paid stuff to go to at 07:30, so I managed myself.:o

Lamewolf - Sounds like Mary's hard work, you are clearly devoted to your dog sitting, is it a national organisation
It's a franchise operation covering the whole country; each agent purchases their "patch" and customer database as a going concern when they start (the agent here took over when the previous lady moved away) but they get support and training from the national organisation, iyswim. The agents then, as well as a customer database, also have a list of hosts - people like myself and Mr LW, without whose help I couldn't do the hosting, I have to say - with whom to place the dogs.

The good thing for me is that if I get any real problems, such as the dog falling ill, I just call the agent and she deals with all that; she brings the dogs to me and collects them, so I don't have the scary bit of dealing with loads of strangers - this is also less stressful for the dogs, btw - and of course she has insurance to cover all eventualities.

The host family get a tiny bit of money per "dog/night", just to make it a proper contract, and to compensate for inconvenience, but we do it for the love of the dogs - I certainly shan't get rich on it!:rotfl:

    If anyone's interested, here's Mary-Fairy-Fuzzy-Butt (as I call her);)

    DSC03849_zps5d8d8269.jpg

    As far as is known
, she's Jack Russell crossed with (possibly) Welsh Terrier.:D

Mary sends doggy best wishes to Jazee's SickDog and HB's Dog, and says "Hi - aren't JRs just the best, eh?" to Pip.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Piggers – Well & truly caught I would say, my DD (11) asked me on Sunday if she could meet her friends in the park at 2 on Monday, her dad was off so he said it was ok, came in last night, went up to get slippers on, found my hair straighteners were left out, my make up bag with various bits of make up all over my dressing table & dressing table mirror left up, drawers left opened………DH then told me he found out they were meeting boys from school at the park to give them their valentines cards!!!!!! I have not saw her yet at she goes to dog agility with my SIL who picks her up at 4.30 so I don’t see her on a Monday but I will see her tonight!!!!!!

Sounds like an important talk about keeping safe and trust is needed and a 'boy talk' .. DH would have been told off too for letting her go knowing she hadn't been entirely truthful with you.

DD2 is now cleaning her room.. she knows she was caught out it appears! lol.

DD3 informed me yesterday one of her awfull friends is moving in a few doors up.. I might have to move, she is a vile child and her voice makes me want to punch her (I know she can't help it but does she really have to talk?) She appears to have no boundaries and be totally babied and spoiled..

    My nephew's in it!! :j:D
Ok he's only an extra but he's still in it, I'm such a proud Auntie :D Still haven't been to watch it yet though :o

ooh, how exciting for you! I bet you are proud - I know I would be. You must see it - it's totally awesome and I think I'll go again next week for my birthday with some friends who are keen to go.

TMD you don't need paper cases with the mini muffins.
    .
Thanks Dusty - will try yorkshires with it on Sunday I think.
Good morning ladies  My first job this morning was "decluttering" a jar of HM damson jam from the top floor onto the kitchen tiles below :o I've swept up the sticky glass, but need to mop, and wash my slippers :o

Oh dear, PenPen! Don't know why, but this made me laugh - sorry!!!

Pigpen - busted I reckon. My Mum and Dad used to hide around corners when I was a teenager checking I was where I said I was going to be - they thought I couldn't see the front of their car peeking!! I used to trick them by going to my mate's house, and we'd then walk to the bus stop and sit a while. Mum and Dad would go home and then I'd get the next bus to my boyfriends!!! They weren't keen on him at the time, but I suppose we were 13 and 14. Now we're both in our 40's I think they've accepted the situation :rotfl:

Been at the paid stuff this morning and dealt with a couple of frogs - dodgy printer and invoices do not mix

WM on, eggs, nutella, bananas and lemon juice purchased for pancakes.

Off to find the list and crack on - HHC at 12.15 anyone?

If I can have a good hour or so, I may take the kids swimming and incorporate a run to the tip again today.

Lame Wolf: Seriously cute dog, would loved to have seen her in her prime:D

If anybody wants me, I'm preparing for a vintage sale on Sunday and having a declutter as I go.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Finding getting back in the swing of things hard. Study done, but there was not much to do, and bathroom pretty much opn the way.

This prompted me to take down the shower curtain for bleaching (long overdue) and will get that in the machine this afternoon and rehung tonight.

I am actually planning opn having cleaners come in and do a spring clean...but, I, Um......need to get it a bit less frightful myself first. Isn't that awful? :(
  • HHC completed and kitchen, laundry, lounge and bathroom now moped :j

Going to make a cup of tea, some cheese on toast and get on with my studies (2 and a half hours is todays goal).

Back later to catch up x
