Evening all, not much to tell just been pottering about. My back's still twinging (sp?) so been taking it slow.
DD1 said she'd do the windows for me but she's trying to do some important college work so I don't want to be too pushy :o
I've told both girls that neither will be going out 'til that pit they call a room is sorted :mad: I nearly killed myself trying to get to the airing cupboard!!

This is me so far -

    Monday - Kitchen

    Level One

    Level Two
    Hoover and mop the floor
    Level Three
    Wipe the work surfaces
Clean any windows/glass/mirrors in this room
    Extras

Shrove Tuesday - Bathroom and study

    Level One

    Level Two
Wipe your keyboard and mouse (which probably have more germs on than the loo)
    mop floors
    Level Three
Descale your taps using the lemons halves you have squeezed for your pancakes (or put them in the DW as a freshener)
    Extras
Are you giving up something for lent or better still take something up- that's what I'm doing, 10 minutes exercise a day and if all else fails 10 minutes lying on the floor each day!

  • Woohoo I managed levels 1,2 and 3 in my bathroom. Don't have a study but cleaned the laptop and the telephone! Thanks for the tips Dustykitten! :-)

Got Agenda ready for tonight, sorted everything for meeting. Late Hall Committee meeting tonight (8:30) as it's been hard trying to get everyone in the one place at the same time for meeting. We're trying to get ready for our islands Up Helly Aa (sort of Viking festival with fire and dancing, skits, drink and food after).

As I'm in the Sheltered Housing the main Viking Squad come here to visit the older and infirm (Most of the older and infirm don't actually live in the Sheltered Housing but it's a good space for them to congregate) I've offered my house as the official toilet  as there is non in the common room . There will be serious flying next week.

I'm also organising a surprise 40th for OH, his Dad's 70th birthday is about this time so we're doing a joint thing. At the moment I'm trying to work out if it's cheaper doing the catering ourselves (we did this at my brothers 30th a couple of years ago) or getting someone else to do it. Thankfully I've had lots of offers of help. Was just thinking of sandwiches, quiches, homebakes etc.

Vanilla - that is a HUGE list thatyou’ve done!! Bet you feel lots betterlooking at things today though.

Fredula - hope you are feelingbetter today

TMD - Even though it’s not beeninside I’d still be proud of doing all that. I don’t use paper cases for muffins, not tried Yorkshirepuddings but haven’t done a roast at mine in ages.

Pigpen – Definitely caught her outI’d say

Craigyvw – Have the same problemwith windows here, it’s more the salt sticking to the outside that is theproblem because it’s 2 minutes walk to the sea in most directions though.

Optimistic Mummy – hope you feellots better soon

Mumto5 – I did a Creative Cakescourse at school thought of all the subjects I did it would be the mostredundant. It’s actually turned out tobe the opposite and I’m very grateful I did it.

WendyWitch – Sending (((hugs)))hope your back is feeling a bit easier.

LameWolf – Lovely dog you’relooking after. The franchise sounds agood one that you get help a lot of the way.

SkintBreeder – No wonder yourparanoia alarm has been going off. I’dbe tempted to put bells on the gate! Hope the gripe water helps Holly and she doesn’t declutter again.

I admit defeat - can't fly and look after the kids/do my typing work at the same time so am just going to do what I have to do to keep the house from being a complete pit and will resume flying next week when they're back at school. I don't want to have them sat for hours on end watching TV, they need to be out ... as do I.

Wendywitch do be careful of your back - will you go to an osteopath or chiropractor if it doesn't improve?

Betsie sounds like you've had a very productive day - enjoy your cuppa!

Skint eugh, not nice to think someone's been spying, makes you feel all shivery doesn't it. The curtain etc is a really good idea - if it gets to be a problem maybe you should report it?

Right, best get these kids sorted out; DS is quite tired after I gave them a good walk this afternoon so done something productive :).

I've had backache on and off since I had children but I've really suffered since I tried to move my friend's dad's mobility scooter a couple of years ago, it pinged like an elastic band :( The doctor gave me tablets but they didn't do much good. If it get's any worse I'll see what this new doctor can do.

  • Chuffed to bits with how today went really. Kids wanted to go swimming this afternoon, so I decided we could tag about 4 jobs onto one trip, which didn't go down at all well so I thought "stuff it, if you can't put the effort in, neither will I". So I went into the study, cleared out loads of emails, sorted out my catering folder and printed off all my recipes I use into a binder, rang a new supplier to arrange a meeting next week, dealt with a huge frog of an email and in between keeping warm with my friend, kettle, I got Wm x 3 and TD x 5 done.

OH not home by teatime, so hotdogs and onions it was and I refused to make pancakes until the lazy lot had cleared their bedrooms and done the dishes.

Pancakes now decluttered and house looking much better.

Must get some proper fresh air tomorrow though if this nice sunny weather keeps going.
