Hi mrsiwannabefree - the 30 Day Shred is fantastic, just work at your own pace. The good thing about it is that everything is in bursts of no more than 3 minutes and she talks all the time so it kind of takes your mind off what you're doing. Good luck!
Just been to the gym to speak to the trainer - he's done me a resistance training plan. OUCH. Only had to do 2 reps to show him I understood but will usually do 3. OUCH AGAIN.My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

No clue lilian, if I'm honest! :rotfl: HBS will answer when she's back from LARPing
Well done chick! No point moving on before you're ready. Gotta walk before you can run, right?!My dvd had heaps of squats and lunges in it, which I did with weights too (10kg total ) I feel the pain today too!!
Welcome mrsiwannabefree
I can totally sympathise - I work in an office too! Only the only walking I get to do during work is to the toilet and back!! :rotfl:
My last job I drove to work, sat at work, sat in my car for lunch, sat at work, then drove home againI hated it! Have since moved jobs and house and I can walk to work, I get out for a brief walk around the shops or something at lunch time, then walk home again. Once or twice a week I'll bring the bicycle. My legs have never been huge but even with that amount of walking I've lost a lot of inches.
Start with walking. Get out 3 times a week min, and try to get some hills in! Walk at a decent pace, so you can feel yourself puffing/sweating a bit! If you're feeling adventurous then maybe try the Couch to 5K programme.
I haven't done the 30 day shred, but from what I imagine, there needs to be a decent degree of fitness level before starting. I could be wrong so anyone feel free to correct me.
The first workout DVD I owned was The Hotpants Workout. Have to say it was a brilliant one for getting me started as I'd done nowt before that, so I was able to increase my fitness level gradually.

Woohoooooo!! :T:T Very well done chick!
STILL have pain from dvd Tues
Struggled through Zumba last night, in which she'd started a new song which would target tums and ... yip!... legs and bums! Managed ok! Walked home. Ate. Then went out for a run to test out my new trainers (1.5 miles)
Walked to work today again. It's not good sitting at a desk for so long. Means I feel like I'm 90y.o. when I stand up:rotfl:
Have a fab weekend everyoneWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Dipping my toe back into the exercise world a year after surgery. I visited our local gym today for a look-see and they've totally revamped it - more machines than I've seen in any other gym, a really good free weights section, decent evening classes, and 15 minutes' walk from home. So I'll be joining (my best friend's already a member) and aiming for 3 sessions a week. I'll get them to design a programme for me, given that I don't want to jeopardise my replacement discs. Have to say, I'm quite excited"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Good for you Tiglath
Sounds like a plan! Take it slowly, and don't overdo it. Build up your strength gradually. Enjoy
You're really getting stuck in lilian! :T
Was out for approx 10 mile cycle Saturday morning. But I actually nearly died! Told OH to go easy coz I was still suffering from Tuesday. Yet I still struggled to keep up:(
No more exercise over the weekend, but want to get out for a run or cycle laterWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Hi all
Possibly a TMI question but...
Did anyone find that when they started their new exercise regime, they had a late period? There's NO chance I'm pregnant, but my period is now 3 days late and I'm usually like clockwork.
Thanks.
