For me doing 10 would be a challenge cos i haven't done any for years, but regulars and advanced can do lots more - maybe 30 and 50? or 50 and 100???? :rotfl: what do you think?
I'm happy to join you with this daily challenge, sit ups are not my forte, just haven't got hte technique yet (I always hurt my neck which is totally wrong)
What other things could we do? Step ups or plank maybe?0 -
Thanks to everyone for your comments re: Zumba. I have my reservations but always willing to try something once.
Day 12 of 30ds today. Knee pain is very bad, struggling to bend down, walk up and downstairs etc. Will give it a few days and if no better will see the doctor. Friend recommended a support from ... Poundland of all places! Seems the one she bought her daughter was quite decent. Anyway, with 30ds I went back down to level 1. Managed most of the strength moves and of course the abs. On the cardio, I sort of hopped along using my good leg just to keep moving and show willing. We'll see how we go over the next few days. Just glad to be back moving after 2 rest days. Got my new 1kg weights from argos (i'm a wimp, 1kg is enough for me although oddly enough I used to do weight training when I was a teen). My new mat is waiting to be collected from tesco.
Fairyclicks - will have a go at your challenge next week once the kids back at school and hubs back at work. Hows everybody else doing? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I was the same, would have to stop because my neck was in Agony every time. Spoke to the instructor and she said that I need to learn to relax my head into my hands and let them take the weight of my head, what a difference! I always thought you shouldn't hold your head while dong sit ups so was trying to just sit my hand at the side of my head but was hurting my neck in the process.
Money maker, I would say when ou try Zumba, keep an open mind and don't give up after the first class. Half way through the first class I went to, I thought "this really isn't for me" but I went back and I now love it. I was VERY self conscious and daren't look n the mirror or at any else lol, but as the weeks have gone on, I have realised everyone (well most) of us feel the same, we just do the best we can and honestly I smile from start to finish, it's great fun and gives you a great workout!"That's no reason to cry. Also make sure your knees are bent and imagine you have an apple sitting on your stomach which you are trying to curl yourself around - its a curling from the stomach motion by tensing the abs and not a lifting from the head oneDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go

Yes there are lots of different things - star jumps, shaking your bootie to your fav tune, press ups, tricep dips, bicep curls, various leg lifts, squats etc etc etc
you can also do ab exercises by getting onto all fours and letting your belly relax (go with gravity) then tense abs to lift your belly (not suck in your breath) - its a good way to start working on your abs if they are weakDebt at Aug 2010 (LBM) £21,908.86, Debt Freeeeee Date 4th Nov 2013 :j:j:j Massive Thanks to the £10 per day thread :A Next goals:Savings £1203.16/£10,000******Mortgage to Zero: £52,579.46 to go

I love this thread! It has been so encouraging to help me get off the sofa.
I'm up for the challenge - sit ups are ok for me. I may have a belly like Budha but strangely I think it must be quite muscular too. Must be years of swimming training as a child. I'll have a go at anything you guys want to do though.
Anyone who has Sky tv , Jillian Michaels has a workout tonight on channel 282 Fitness TV @ 6.30pm. I'm kinda looking forward to it (says the girl who hates exercise)

sorry guys - that thing on Sky tv seemed to be an infomercial. I ended up starting day 1 of 30ds instead.....I got 3/4 of the way through and was sick! I'm not sure if it was the exercise or migraine or both, I felt like one of those peeps on week one of the biggest loser.
Anyhoo, I'm a glutton for punishment so will have another go tomorrow!"I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." A. Whitney Brown0
