everyone feels sorry for themselves sometimes, and things are hard for an awful lot of people at the moment.
we all need someone to tell us to pull ourselves together and get a grop now and then ....
Thanks nannytoone, I'm kind of glad I did now. It's no good moaning I need to change it. I did feel sorry for myself and my situation, but thanks for the kick up the buttDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0 -
joanne79 - just asking.... could your husband not look after the children, cook, housework - any of these? I understand about the back and how serious that must be for him to be unable to work, but wonder what the extent is that he couldn't stay home for a bit to help you boost your hours, or for you to get a second job? (And yes, I have done two jobs - one being a full-time and one an evening job). Just wondering if that would get you over the time until your OH can get back to work? Presumably the 5-year old is at school now?
And yes, people in low and high-level jobs manage to bring up children who are well-adjusted and become good citizens.
.....
I do feel for people who will be having their benefits changed, and they should contact their councils, as I understand there are discretionary amounts for qualifying people.
Also, the idea that a particular council house should be for life has to be changed. It's generous beyond belief. In the private sector, people move rented and owned properties all the time. Why shouldn't tax-funded people? There are people who have huge salaries and stay in their council houses.
As I say, I do feel for people with all these changes. The fact remains, however, that the Country's tax-payers have just been too generous for too long.0 -
Yes my daughter is at school. It's been difficult for him...because he gets to a point where he is on the mend and something else goes wrong...2 ops and he has arthritis in it,so with backs, good days and bad days.. But yes he does what he can and can hopefully do more soon enough, his trade is a builder so obviously he can't do that,so I gues the thought of doing anything else after 48 years concerns him..I was told 2 days ago I will be trained in our cash office,so I am hoping this could be my opportunity, and maybe it's come at just the right timeDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

I so wish I had started my early years differently...I know it's a cop out to say its what I grew up with...but I spent all my child hood watching all the nice things being delivered from a catalogue or as I got older on a credit card etc so when I turned 18 I started down the same path as my mum, and was told at 21 by the citizens advice I should consider bankruptcy...I would love to own my house,I hate the thought I have nothing to leave my children and want to be able to leave them more. Sadly after battling illness and debts my mum took her own life...so that should be a lesson for me in itself...that was 5 years ago when I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter....so guess I just lost my way a bit with everything else.Don't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

Hi Joanne, have you tried looking at mutual exchanges? I downsized in November from a 3 to 2 bed via an exchange. It's definitely worth a look on any local exchange sites. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

Yes he did so he claims nothing...I know this is my way out,and am looking into maybe full time nights...i would like to do full time days, but don't think I would earn enough to cover nursery fees etc... I do feel a bit of a plonka now for complaining...and know its only us that can change it
Why would you need to work nights when you have a partner living with you who could look after the children?0 -
I was thinking ahead when I thought about nights, and about my partner eventually getting back ino work, but couldn't see how we could both work days...and nights pays more,in my thinking I could go onto nights, and when oh is ready he could do days in something, but that plan fell flat when I thought about school holidays :-/ at the Moment I do 3 days a week, so best plan is to increase this I think...until I know what's happening with ohDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

What were the names of these 'huge estates' and where were they?0 -
