Ok sorry about second post...thought I was replying to some else's:-/ at the end of the day it's not a situation I want to be in, but one I will be able to change eventually,it's been hard anyway and has now been made harder.sick of using payday loans to keep up with council tax as that month just doesnt cover it with everything else....maybe I'll take a look at that board thanksDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

I work 16 hours as I have 2 children to take care to,when my position changes I will certainly GO BACK to full time work, but until it does this is my situation....I love how you suggestions come all so easily when you know nothing of the situation.i already said my partner had his back operated on,and when he is fit then WE WILL change our situation,so yes we do work 16 hours between 2 of us ....because that's how it has to be for now.....should have known people would judge when I posted. My situation is the way it is for now,but will scrape by until we can change it. And your quote is not strictly true,my dad has copd and has not worked since my mum died 5 years ago, and he get helps with his mortgage, quite a bit actually, as for repairs etc ....yeah glad I don't have any of them
Your dad is on a workless benefits hence SMI. If he had a low income, he wouldn't. Help for low incomes is only rental, if you own it's full allocation or nothing.
You OH has ill for sometime, so may not be able to work. If you are struggling then I'd look for full time work. Are you aware people work with children full time?0 -
Yes because of my partners back,it's made things difficult, but op is done now,and I will change my situation ,and I do feel for people who can'tDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

Yes his back problems have been on and off for 5 years now, and i know people work full time with children...but again it's working it out so it works rightDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

But you are saying you can't pay the extra rent, add the council tax changes etc. I do have some sympathy as it appears your OH lost his benefits when you moved in, but the fact is that if you are struggling then working more is your only real choice.0 -
Just spoke to my neighbour and she is moving to a smaller house.
She moved in about 3 years ago with her partner and 2 boys. The oldest is unwell and often in hospital. The council put a second toilet in it last year so he didn't have to use the stairs during the day.
About a year ago her partner moved out with the youngest boy. She told everyone they were not getting on. He told me he was moving out because he was told he needed to start looking for work. There was no reason that he couldn't.
So he moved out and became a single parent, giving him a few more years of doing 'not a lot'. He was here last week moaning he would have to start contributing to his council tax. Infact he is here quit a lot.
Anyway today she says moving, because the area is too rough. It isn't the best area but it is far from rough. It is a small road, with no trouble families. The lovely lady across the road who is housebound keeps eye on the place when I am at work.
She is moving to a 2 bedroom place in what is a much rougher area.
Why she just can't say she doesn't want to pay the extra rent I have no idea.0 -
Yes he did so he claims nothing...I know this is my way out,and am looking into maybe full time nights...i would like to do full time days, but don't think I would earn enough to cover nursery fees etc... I do feel a bit of a plonka now for complaining...and know its only us that can change itDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0

There is no need to feel a plonks - we all like to moan
But reality is that there isn't a lot. You'd get 70% childcare paid.0 -

everyone feels sorry for themselves sometimes, and things are hard for an awful lot of people at the moment.
we all need someone to tell us to pull ourselves together and get a grop now and then ....0 -

Thanks a lot I will look into this more now..instead of moaning about my situation,I do want things to be better, but it has been difficult with my partners situation, which we hope is sorted once for all now.... I'm full of something...can't think of a word but thank you watch this spaceDon't expect everyone to understand your journey, especially If they've never had to walk your path!!0
