how about UK Parents Lounge. I used to use the site many years ago but there was too much public flogging and executions for my liking. Dunno if its changed any.

I imagine most people end up in a middle ground of doing what works ( or what they think works) for their families.0 -

I remember vividly son would not go into his bed and he was up and about all the night so we took it in turns to sit in the hall on a chair and every time he decided to get up and walk about we would go 'get back into bed, go':rotfl: the first night we did it seemed like 100 times, the second night less and the third all done, worked a treat, who cares whether it was the right way or the wrong way, just the way we did it and it worked a treat:D;)0 -

I had a friend who would buy a book on parenting, then read it, buy another one, read it, jeez the amount of time she spent reading and the money it cost, just get the ideas from the way your own child behaves and go with it:D
Porridge though, I remember telling the nurse son would not go to sleep at a reasonable hour, porridge she said, fill his tummy before bed, 1st night of porridge, slept through perfect:D0 -
