Never having read any Gina Ford, what leaped out at me from the Independent article was the fact that you were going to feed baby 'in the nursery'. The where? None of mine had a 'nursery', at least not at home, from birth. It's where they went when they were 3.
We didn't even have a bedroom for DS3: DH was working from home, and that took the bedroom he'd have been in otherwise.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

You probably won't remember but you helped me out by recommending mine and dd's now favourite website - Crafty Crocodiles. It's the best craft website I've seen and DD pours through the catalogue at night circling things she would like. I always think of it when I see your name in posts

I loved the boots thread! Got so many great deals. Such a shame it got shut down.
I've always been a lurker but am posting slightly more these days as I'm at home a lot more and back in the UK (I was overseas for a long time). There are people posting on this thread whose posts I admire immensely and who I feel like I 'know'. No doubt they would be freaked out and consider me a bit of a stalker if I said who! That's what lurking does I guess!
The forum is so much bigger now but there are still plenty of pocket of friendliness. I miss some posters who have abandoned the forum and I always seem to miss the event that prompts them to leave so never know where they've gone or why.0 -
I'm still lurking occasionally, just been too busy to dare even visit in case I got too distracted.
BTW Gina Ford is a complete failure where sensory seeking kids like DS2 are concerned!Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

how about UK Parents Lounge. I used to use the site many years ago but there was too much public flogging and executions for my liking. Dunno if its changed any.
I wonder if Steve still runs it?
I think he still does.. but it is dead nowadays pretty much (I was there too.. guess the username lol) It is all very commercial now.
There was definitely a penchant for bullying certain members, but then it seems to be getting a bit that way inclined over here too. I keep finding things in my boxes of treasures made by the WAHM's on there who have now gone on to have factories etc making their stuff and really successful businesses, makes me smile.
I am in touch with a few bodies from over there still.
