    Good afternoon everyone,

PP - that is a lovely looking cake, im really hungry now!!!!

    Csarina and Crazychik - ((HUGS))

Mrsmix (and joannasmum) - so glad they have been caught/sentenced!!!!

Sorry, just had brain freeze and cant remember anything else, so big hugs to anyone who wants/needs one xxx

Had a lovely day today - LOs were all well behaved, ive managed to take some junk to the tip, clean my kitchen, bathroom and toilets and some gardening too - so feeling pleased, as i have done nothing all week (well it feels that way!!!). I also made 7 portions of veg soup (one was eaten for lunch, and it was delish) and stew for tonights dinner. Im just waiting for the last one to go, and dinner is all ready to dish up, and ive already poured a glass of wine - so im set for the night!!! My fav prog is on at 9 - House so children will be in bed and quiet before then. All i want to do now is whip the hoover around downstairs and water the garden and then i can relax - so looking forward to that.

Right, last one should be going in the next 5 mins, so im off for a quick browse before i dish up dinner.
    Have a lovely evening,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

edited to add - i also voted today!!!

PennyPincher, wonder if it'd survive in the post, wow that looks fab! My cakes never look pretty :( usually taste ok just not pretty.
joannasmum seems strange saying you are pleased about something like this, but I am, for once justice has been done.
csarina - Im so sorry to hear that! Sounds like she has been a fighter, thinking of you all.
Donny-gal- hope he's feeling better soon and has a good birthday
Crazychik, hope he is ok, always difficult when it's an ex especially, my ex's Mam was really poorly and before we split we were good friends, I did eventually see her but it was difficult.
Mrs Mix hope they have the little swines and something is done about it.

Right, hope that is it, I did read through but my memory is useless. Hugs to anyone else who needs one today.

Been busy here, coffee morning this morning after sorting kids & dogs, 4 deliveries inc food one, building trampoline, taking DS to appointment and a lot of housework. Taking this opportunity to have a sit down before taking kids swimming. Thursdays are always like this, would think I would be used to it by now!

Anyway, going to have a nosey on the other threads, ttfn :)
One day I might be more organised...........

    Afternoon all,

Hugs to those having a rough time of it, dementia has to be one of the worst things to cope with.

Had quite a busy morning, as this is my Thursday to be paid (fortnightly) and tomorrow is going to be busy OH and I went to town and got quite a lot done...savings to Credit Union, cheque to bank so that bills can be paid, visit to Tesco to avail of their BOGOF on my favourite butter, half price yogurt, pears and grapes. We then moved to Superquinn who do nice fish, got some nice fresh mackerel also bought some Allinsons yeast at €1.50 for 6 sachets.. much cheaper than the one I have been using, which is something like €3.40 for 8 sachets, so pleased with that. Then paid a visit to Aldi for their orange and apple juice and discovered that they were selling really good, healthy climbers for €2.99 each....bought 4 clematis, two passion flowers, two jasmine, now all I have to do is dig the holes!

Home, groceries unpacked and put away and brother rings to ask if we would like to go to his for a barbecue to-night, so am off down there to give a hand while he finishes off some office work...be home early though as need to be up early to-morrow.

OH has watered garden and greenhouse, so all I have to do is a check that nothing is amiss.

Still having beautiful weather here, early 20s I think and very few clouds, not a huge sunbathing fan, but love the heat and the sunsets.

Hope that to-morrow will be a better day for those hurting

 Hi everyone – just checking in! Weather here is still wonderful – it’s going to be a lovely evening. DH was supposed to have been home early so that we could stroll slowly down to the polling station. He made me promise not to cast my vote until we could go together and now he’s late coming home!  I’ve just phoned him and he said he’ll be home at about 6.30 – not the 5.00ish he’d promised; as we have DS2 and GF coming round for dinner at about 7.30, it means I have to decide whether to put the chicken in the oven (for Lemon Chicken) and the new potatoes on to boil before we go or wait until we come back. I think I’ll have to put it on beforehand and then we’ll have to run to the polling station and I’ll be worried that we’ll be held up and the house will burn down and then I’ll be grumpy and will have to wait until DS2 and GF have gone home before I beat DH up! Men! Luckily, the polling station is only a five minute walk away but I could have done mine this morning when I went past it! Well, the table is all laid and I’ve put as much ready as I can so I don’t think it’ll hurt to have everything simmering while we’re out. I don’t want to go down there once it’s dusk because I’m terrified of maybugs and this is MAY and they come out when it gets to dusk time! I haven’t seen one yet but that’s not to say they aren’t out there waiting!
MRS MIX –I am so pleased they’ve arrested those responsible – let’s hope they’re given serious sentences and not the few days inside that criminals seem to get away with nowadays. Having said that, the you-know-what that stole JOANNASMUM’S car and committed an armed robbery with it, at least got a half-decent sentence. I hope they mean 15 years and not out in half the time.
PP – that cake looks delicious. You can send me a slice – I don’t mind if it’s all squashed when it arrives! It should be on the front cover of a posh cooking magazine!:T :T
HARDUPHESTER – what a terrible position they put you in! I’m surprised they asked such a leading question; they should have asked if ‘anyone’ had been harassing you, not named a particular person. And it’s a horrid way to find out who to get rid of if they want to reduce staff levels.

Well, have just looked at the indexed collections ‘cos I fancy making a sausage casserole for tomorrow’s dinner but there was more than one to choose from! So. I’m still undecided but I have got the sausages out of the freezer anyway so I’ll have to do something with them. We have guests again for dinner on Saturday and I’m going to do a dish I did last week that we really enjoyed. I hope it turns out as good, but, knowing my luck, I’ll forget a vital ingredient and it’ll be inedible! I made a Ratatouille from one recipe on here and combined it with Paprika Pork which I also found on here and the result was wonderful. I’ll be off to the farm shop tomorrow for the veggies and the butcher for the tenderloin. The veggies I bought at the farm shop last Friday stayed fresh all week and I’ve never found that with the supermarket stuff. I didn’t end up throwing anything away – very OS!
Anyway, off to water the garden. Will try and look in later but will be having wine with our meal and may not be capable! Have a great evening, everyone, and (((hugs))) to all.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Queenie - I'm interested in the HM Laundry powder but have a few questions. Are the ingredients easy to get hold of? I've never heard of any of them (sorry for being thick!) Is the soap just like normal soap you would use to wash your hands and can washing soda and borax be bought at the supermarket? Also, do you think it would be ok for someone with sensitive skin? Sorry for all the question! I like to limit my chemical use in the household as much as possible and have bought a fantastic laundry ball which can be used again and again with no powder - I do feel that my OH's work clothes and my sweaty gym kit needs something a bit more though! :D

The soap isn't available, it's an American brand, but I've used soap heals (waste not, want not) or baby soap or Dove soap.
Washine soda is the US term for our Soda Crystals - available in most supermarkets and chemists.
Borax is ... borax :D It's available in Chemists and old fashioned Hardware Stores.

I buy soda crystals and borax in Boots.

All the ingredients are ok and should not irritate the skin if they are well rinsed, which the machine does.

    HTH :)

Oooh Snow Patrol, "Chasing Cars" has just come on the radio (love that song!).

Delivery finally came at .... yup!... almost 5pm again. Still, at least I've got it and I can take a leisurely stroll down to the polling station with the lads and walk of my tea

Think my brain is revision dead and the fresh air will definatley do me good!

Anyone else voting Monster Raving Looney Party?;)

    Hi all

Back from hospital, 60 miles there and back, got 15 pounds back for our expenses though:D so non os meal was a chip supper and a bottle of irn bru, yummy!

It was just a consultation today, he did say what was wrong with my gum, it was something growth, i have got a big bit of gum growing up over one of my bottom teeth and is very painful, he said it was common in late pregnancy, so was asking all sorts of questions, im sure i had it before lo was born as i dont have a dentist so just left it.

He has advised me i need to get a dentist asap, after it is taken out, if i dont get regular cleaning then it will come back:eek: there are no dentists though! will have to phone round again.

Getting it taken out on the 21st, will freeze my gum, and a local anithestic (sp) that is so spelt wrong!! then another appointment after that for a review where they check out the bit of gum at the lab to make sure it was what he said, he said he was 99% sure it was ok.

Kids had a great time with mum, spoilt so and so's!:rotfl:

Ds1 was low before tea, blood went up at 5pm so got insulin, he was getting upset 10 mins ago, blood down to 1.8:eek: lowest it has been in ages!

csarina sorry to hear of your news, hugs

    Hugs to all
