    hello!

(((hugs))) to Csarina and also to crazychick and their families and anyone else with poorly people in their family.

Patentgirl - good luck with your diet too! 10.7 st is about what I'd like to be too but anything under 11 st would be great! was once 9 stone when I had pneumonia and I looked dreadful! so I think 10.7 stone is realistic for my height.

I am on a green day today! so its jacket spud for lunch with baked beans.
My back is still playing up, going to take something for it I think.

Hope you all have a lovely day,

    catch you later xxx

    Hello!:hello:

A slow start here in the catz household! No flyladying done but never mind I have been skiving and playing on google earth! great fun!

Welcome to Trigger 2 and Night owl!

Just been reading the thread and want to send ((((Hugs))) to
Csarina - such sad news at least she has found love and friendship during her life which is, I feel, why we are here. thinking of you!

(((Hugs))) to donny gal, my Mum had dementia with parkinsons and it was very distressing when she didn't recognise us, there was just 1 day shortly before she died when she did know me but had gone back 10 years and was worrying about a problem I had then (long since sorted! bless!) I knew then just how much she loved me in spite of the illness!

Well back to the packing! (or playing on google earth!;) ) and strict pacing for me so I can cope with the flight! Only 3 more sleeps!:j

Breakfast - hm choc bread toast with cherry jam (using up)
Lunch - leftover R Pork and veg followed by an apple
Dinner - Tuna spaghetti bake and salad
Snacks - an orange and some sponge fingers

Glad the cleaners are working out well PP

    have a lovely day

    Catz x

    Pam

Call the consultants secretary and let them know you can come in with 24 hours notice. This way, when they get a cancellation, they can fill the slot with DD and she can be done earlier!

The secretary may say that they dont run a reserved list, but you can also maintain you're happy to come in early if they don't want to waste the time in the theatre.

    This worked for me.

    LG

P.S. Remember, DD is going to need 2 weeks recovery at home after the op. So get plenty of games and pain killers in!! Don't let her eat chocolate - this sticks to the back of the throat and makes the raw nerves VERY painful!!

for thoes of you that missed them on Saturday:-

I took all of these photos myself, and I like to print them out and give them as presents in picture frames. Makes it a more personal gift.

This is a photo of mother swan keeping an eye on her two day old cygnets as they swim across the boating lake here in Perranporth.

Here is a photo of Mother swan leading her week old cygnets to a tasty grass verge next to the boating lake. (Daddy swan had sneaked up behind me and was about to nip the back of my leg when I turned round - naughty daddy!)

And this photo shows mum and dad escorting the cygnets back from the beach, up the stream, back to the boating lake.

I only wish I had a copy of them walking up the middle of the road and causing a long traffic jam! Swans dont walk very fast, and no amount of tooting car horns will convince them to move any faster!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

This is Perranporth Beach, and this is the Millennium Sundial.

Ladygrim - how do you put your photos up like that?

I'm very new to this forum lark and have noticed people putting photos up - I'd like to know how!

    Thanks!

Many thanks to all of you who have sent messages, I do appreciate your thoughts.

It is 4am in California so I am not expecting an update until around 4pm this afternoon.

We are both very upset, we know there is nothing we can do and her son has made sure that she has not suffered, he is a nurse and his wife is a cancer nurse, they are getting support from the home hospice service, which has been wonderful.................

In a way we will be glad to get the message that she has slipped away, she is such a brave lady and has suffered so much in her life......we feel that she will be at peace at last with her husband and 3 sons.

    Hi there!
DONNY-GAL – your poor dad – I felt really sad reading that. Dementia is a terrible thing, isn’t it? The only blessing is that he himself is not aware of it. I’ve known someone who has nursed their DH through it and the strain on her and the rest of the family was hard to witness. I’m glad your dad can still take pleasure in simple things like his favourite sweets and hope he has a Happy Birthday.
CRAZYCHIK – will pm you in a mo – don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t ask you for advice. You really should start charging! (((hugs))) to your exOH.
We have been so lucky with the weather here – apart from a brief hard shower one afternoon last week I don’t think we’ve had any rain for weeks. Surely, now, there is no risk of cold weather descending on us! Wouldn’t it be great to just roll through to summer-proper without a cloud in the sky?! Wishful thinking, or what?! I know I’ll hate having to dry the washing indoors again!
Well, that last bit was typed about an hour ago (took Crazychik’s advice and put it on Word so I don’t lose it) but I forced myself to leave the computer and get on with the messy business of prepping the chicken for dinner. I hate doing the flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs thing but it is worth it when it’s eaten! Haven’t voted yet but DH has said he will come home early so we can go together. It’s quite a nice walk to the polling station from here. Then DS2 and his GF will be here for dinner and, probably, some good old vino! My lunch was HM bread with some delicious ready-cooked chicken wings that, I only found out yesterday, my butcher sells at six for £1.00; I thought that was a good price – they were very tasty. I didn’t have all six, honest. I had two and DS2 and GF will no doubt raid the fridge tonight and take the rest home with them. At what age do they stop doing that, anyone? I always have to check what they take now because I had made some not-cheap pate for a dinner party starter once and they wolfed it down thinking it was something left over that I was going to make soup with! They did enjoy it though so it wasn’t wasted, really! I think I had to shove a couple of emergency boiled eggs on some lettuce for the starter that night!
Welcome, and welcome back to those who have been here before, TRIGGER 2, NIGHT-OWL AND DOGROSE – pleased to meet you!:hello: :hello: :hello:
(((hugs))) to you CSARINA – am thinking of you and the family in USA. Cannot believe what a hard life she has had.
MRSMIX – Glad your day has started to improve and the lorry repair didn’t cost too much!
DANNA - Good luck at the concrete face! That kaleidoscope sound fantastic – I’ve never heard of one like that. Was it you who mentioned Lamb’s liver? I used to
really enjoy it but didn’t do it very often because no-one else in the family liked it but, the last time I bought some, I actually took one look at it and thought ‘I don’t think I can eat this!’. It suddenly dawned on me just what it was!
REVERIE – my office completely overwhelms me most of the time! I try so hard to get a system going but then I get interrupted or DH wants something printed off and it throws it all out again. I’ve got several systems on the go again but I keep printing things off – recipes etc, - for filing ‘later’ and they just end up in a heap. I always have a pile of things just balancing on the edge of the desk. I think it’s just the lives we all lead these days, isn’t it? I well remember being told by someone when computers had just started to become popular, that it would lead to the ‘paperless’ office. I think it’s done precisely the opposite!
JET77 - hope you sorted your childcare out for today?!
Well, I have just printed off MRS MIX’s Tiger Rolls recipe which means I either add it to the balancing pile which probably can’t take another sheet of paper or I file it! (((hugs))) to anyone I have missed and will look in again later.
