I don't know. Kissing can be learnt, plus there's more to intimacy than kissing.

Do you connect on other levels and in other ways?

oooh skintchick im gonna have to disagree on that one, personally i think kissing is one of the most intimate things you can do, there is nothing like a sensual snog lol.... anyhow back to the OP, I think that because of his bad breath/ lack of oral hygiene:eek: that has put you off straight away, in all honesty I wouldnt/couldnt put up with that!!! not being a great kisser is one thing but having foul breath on top of that is quite another tough one though........
LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT
  • Mmmmm, talking about sparks. I remember when the relationship with my paramour was new (I'm middle aged, too old for a bf. Lol)

He literally made me go weak at the knees when he touched me, but he didn't know it. It led to silly situations - one day, we were a bit late getting to an auction. He grabbed my hand and said "Let's run for it". Unfortunately, him touching my hand made my knees go funny - of course, just at the point that he was trying to make me run. Lol!

Ugh. I'm jealous :o. I'd love someone to make me weak at the knees. Or even queasy in a good way lol!
  • It's early days...it could be that we just end up as friends. He's really nice. And beautiful to look at but, after tonight, I don't know about physical attraction. He didn't really seem to know what he was doing at all. There wasn't an intimate feel at all. His eye contact is pretty poor.

I'm 28 and he's younger than me. Mitigating circumstances... I dunno, maybe he's too nice? Might have always fell into the "friend" category.

Get him some dental floss and mouthwash. Then try some gentle flirting, just touching hands, etc, and see if you feel a spark. At least you'll have given it a go.
Do you know yourself, what turns you on from a partner?

Not only did his breath smell like poo...he had definitely had Tuna for dinner :(.

Erm...:o...yeah I definitely know what turns me on in a man...:o

How would I let him know about the breath without hurting him?
  • Does he have questionable hygiene in other areas other than just his mouth/breath? If a guy has bad breath/bad oral hygiene it usually means his general hygiene isn't much good either. And that definitely cannot/should not have to be taught!!

If that's the case, and there is no attraction or spark there, then it doesn't sound like there's much hope....sorry :(

Different people would do it different ways, I suppose.
Depends on how pragmatic you want to be.
How about - finish off dinner, then announce that you're just popping off to the bathroom to brush your teeth and floss. Then tell him that you've got a new spare toothbrush for him, and you'll wait for him in the living room, with coffee. Do it smilingly.

    You can't.

To me, kissing is such a cornerstone in the relationship, that if it doesn't work, it just doesn't.
Bad breath can come and go, kissing compatibility doesn't.

You should know from the kiss, if it will work and it sounds like it doesn't.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

Oh wow I think I feel a puke coming on..... You've got a stronger stomach than me if his breath smelt like poop and you still managed to finish the kiss....I think I would have been running AND puking within a split second!! :(

Oh, maybe give him another chance then! Tuna gives everyone cat food breath. Not a good thing to eat just before a date!
