2014 £44.00:mad:2013 £83.00 2012 £601.50
2011 £1554.50 2010 £698.00 2009 £2793.00

If they don't want your money, spend it elsewhere - probably can be bought cheaper elsewhere anyway0

How strange!
I assume that the bar-code had been damaged and would not scan, but normally they can then enter details of the product manually.
My guess is that it was not theirs, not something that they stock, and someone who had bought it somewhere else had left it their.0 -

I'd go along with that. Used to be a prank when we were students. Can I help?0 -
Start shopping at Asda.
9 times out of 10 if something won't scan they just give it you anyway. Got a free pizza on Monday.:D0 -
It all boils down that a shop does not have to sell you anything. If it doesn't scan and they can not determine the price then how much would you be willing to pay .. if for example they said 'we do not know the price but we will charge you £2.50' would you be happy?
Just one of those things
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
Would have been more funny if you'd started jumping up and down with both feet at the check-out and wailing "Give meeeee baaaack my shhhhuggggaaaar puuuuuufs" and pretending to cry and making a really big scene .... I'd have paid to see it (but not if I had the kids with me!!!) - I'd bet they'd have given them to you!!0

that would be funny.
i recently got something free in focus because the bored lad behind the till couldn't be bothered to look for the bar code in his little folder.0 -

Seriously??? Strangest prank I've ever heard of.
"I'm bored today. Let's go and buy a box of cereal in one supermarket, then put it on the shelf in another supermarket. The resulting chaos when the item doesn't scan at the till will be hilarious."
Does the perpetrator hang around by the till all day so they can witness their moment of glory?0 -
