How do you know when he likes you?

There's a guy at work that I really like. We're always chatting and having a laugh and I think he likes me too but I can't be sure and I don't want to 'make a move' without being sure.

He made a comment today and on one hand I'm thinking is he saying that because he likes me or is he just mucking about? I tripped up at work right in front of him (talk about embarrassing!) and later on when we were in a taxi together he said "I can understand how you did it, you were too busy gazing at me with the door open and the light lighting me up from behind". I laughed but I didn't say anything in return. I can't be sure he wasn't just mucking around, though he said it a while after it happened.

Before that he'd spent quite a while talking to me (things at work are a bit slow at the mo so we had some free time).

I was thinking of saying something but I don't want to get it wrong. Are there any signs I should be looking for? If a guy is interested in that way, would he just make it obvious or could he be wondering the same about me? I'm so confused and I really like him it's annoying.

I would say smile a lot at him, laugh at his jokes, be around him as much as possible and wait for him to ask you out to dinner.

Sounds like banter to me. Otherwise it's a bit close to the mark.

I'd ask him to the pics or for a meal. Not a drink as that's 'friends' and you want to know if he likes you as more than that.

I would suggest you ask him the same question that 74jax asked you - "do you like me as a friend or more"? You may or may not get the answer you want, but if you don't ask you may never know ....
  • Is he single? and he is similar age to you?

He's definitely single and 12 years older than me, but the age gap doesn't bother me.

How awkward would work be if you went out on a limb and were wrong?

    Is it worth the risk?

Prolonged eye contact is always a winner, when chatting hold his gaze and see how he reacts, if he smiles and keeps the eye contact you are in!
I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.
