Daily for Wednesday 2nd May 07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 2nd May 07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread
after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone

It's getting late (as if 6.30am has ever been late!) and the thread hasn't been started, so here it is! I managed to sleep through last night, for about the fifth time in three years, so that is quite an achievement for me. I could do with another couple of hours, but maybe I should resist to try and encourage a similar long sleep tonight.

I'm taking a day's unpaid leave today. The shop has overspent on staff wages so now they are trying to claw some dosh back by having people go on unpaid - it's voluntary and I jumped at the chance especially in this fantastic weather. I'll miss the pay, but TBH I love free time more than I love money. Not that I am going to waste the day...am planning on a bit of spring cleaning, a bit of gardening and planting of seeds, a bit of shopping in the charity shops, and going for a walk at some point.

Catznine, congratulations on your anniversary for yesterday. You and hubby looked so happy on your wedding day - and I think you are both still as happy now, which is wonderful.

Have a fab day everyone.

Snowy

Good morning snowy and all who follow - glad you managed to get some sleep last night!!!

Busy day for me today - going to stick to walking to anf drom school for a bit - when my older ones leave to go to school and i take on some smaller ones, they wont be able to walk, so we will be back in the car, so to make use of the lovely weather and the fact that we can walk, we will be!!!! Also have the new LO coming again today, for a couple of hours this time - he is lovely, and its nice to have a baby here again.
Im starting to get behind with my cleaning, but im not too bothered at the mo, i will catch up (hopefully today) but if not, i will at the end of the week.
Dont think much else is planned/happening, so a bit boring - will be making a cottage pie later, so that will be nice for dinner.

Hope everyone has a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Good morning
I'm off to work in a minute, fortunately I enjoy one of my jobs, lol.
I've taken hubby to the station, fed & watered the rabbit & guinea pig & tropical fish & I have hung the washing out so hopefully it will be dry by the time I get home. Tea & toast for breakfast, 2nd breakfast, an egg sarnie & lunch, leftovers meal from last night, all packed ready to go, yes I know I'm greedy, but I have my first breakfast about 5:30am & I don't get home till 5:30 pm & don't eat till 6:30 so I take 2 meals to work & it does stop me eating biscuits at work, lol.
Hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all

Glad you got a good nights sleep Snowy, fingers crossed for another tonight.

Another lovely day, went to work on Monday and forgot to open the greenhouse window, and after all that TLC, I have lost most of my caulis and broccoli :( who would have thought it at the end of April

Work today, and a friend has asked me to knit a top for a wedding in 4 weeks, so hopefully it will be quiet and I can make a start.

Going to have a go at Hunters Chicken for tea, so will throw everything into the slow cooker before I go out. It says use white wine, but it seems an awful waste, so I will use stock instead ;)

Have a good day everyone x

    Morning all!
Looks like rain here today, which is a pity as was planning on washing the kids bedding.
Feeling tired this morning, the kids will too, as we stayed up to watch the end of the match. Two off the boys and dh are chelsea fans and youngest ds is a liverpool fan!!! That made for a greats night viewing!!LOL.

Plans for today nipped to town and try and get a underwater camera and a few b/day presents, have 3 coming up in next 2 weeks, so off armed with my piggypoint vouchers!!
Then tea tonight is going to have to be a quick bacon sausage and cheese buttie as ds1 has a midweek football match, he kicks off at 6pm. His next to last match off season, then we can sit and wait for presentation nights!!
Hugs to all that need on today, off for another coffee and get pack ups done.

    Good morning everyone,

It's another beautiful day here but sadly I have to go back to w**k after a fantastic few days off, made more fantastic by the company of the amazing Pink, who came over to visit. What a lovely, lovely lady icon7.gif, and she is as nuts as I am! I'll leave it to Pink to tell you the tales of the coots and squirrels. :D

OS-wise I'm going to have to do some hand washing later, washing machine is still not fixed and I'm running out of stuff rapidly. The bathroom needs a scrub and that will be about it! My fridge and freezer are stuffed currently so I'll have to work out which order things are going to be eaten in.

Have a lovely day everyone. xxx
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    Hello Everyone,

I've not posted since Easter:eek: Life is so busy.

My youngest son turned 3 a couple of weeks ago. He now goes to playschool 3 days a week. I find that I'm rushing in and out of the house all day. School at 8.30, playschool at 9.15, collect at 12 back out at 2.45. I never have time to do anything, I find it very fustrating.

My nan is still at the nursing home and is extremely demanding. My Dad was over for a couple of days and went home on Saturday. She only really wants to see him so she takes her fustration at him being in Spain out on me.

I've freecycled, most of the contents of the shed and am working my way through the kids bedrooms. It's wonderful getting rid of clutter!

I hope everyone is well physically and emotionally, I've not visited the site for ages so sorry if anyone's having a bad time.

    Enjoy the sunshine everyone.....

    Morning Guys!

I wont bore you with health problems as I usually do. I had a PM yesterday stating that I always go on about my health, so I apologise if I do:o

WM will be going on shortly and the DW and loo has been cleaned too.

Today I am cocentrating on more essay, so a boring day really.

My new Kenwood Chef came yesterday and is lovely. Havent used it yet, but will wait for a better day then try it. Bought a cover on Ebay for it...blue with pink polkadots:D Looks very impressive though and they sent me a cookbook worth £20, so cant be bad. I am thinking of buying the veg peeler attachment as this will make it easier for me....what do you think? Its £25 and peels any hard/root veg including spuds:confused: Also decided to take out the 5yr cover for £30.

OH got a bit sunburnt yesterday doing the ironing in the garden, but am very grateful that it got done. I also sorted through some paperwork and wrapped 4 parcels for Ebay.

Anyway, Id best go. Am hoping later to pick DD up from school and head to Bluewater for a couple of bras for DD and have our dinner at John Lewis with the voucher we have that didnt get used the other week.

Hugs to all. Sorry again if I go on too much.
