Competitions Time End Dates

Have to admit I am confused why it needed to change! I personally like to see the end date in the title as when I save it's clear to see. Now I'll have to add them all the time. Why? It worked OK before. It's no hardship but makes it harder to see when a comp finishes.
For me, it's educating people how the comp board works that's the issue IMO. Still too much bumping going on. (one example).
Oh well. MSE is great, don't get me wrong, but why change things that don't need changing? It confuses me.

When you use the new end date sort the ones with 'Unknown' are filtered out and so are the stickies.

So i'll have to do the end date way, and then go through the other way to make sure I haven't missed any, so glad I started comping again last week, couldn't have coped if I had come back and it had all changed like this....lol

I also like to have the end date in the title for bookmarking purposes, I hadn't thought of that one before, thanks to the people that have pointed it out!

Idea - If you can stop someone putting the end date into the title, is there any way in which this new end date format can actually put the date in the title in the same format eg. 31-01-2013 instead of having it underneath the title?

That way people can sort whichever way they wish, end date or title, and can also see the end date when they bookmark a comp?

I have to add my voice here, not that it will make a scrap of difference, that's obvious from the way this has been done and all previous comments been ignored.

WHY can't we have the end date in the title? what is wrong with it being there if it helps so many people, both posters and enterers?

There are so many faults in the new system at the moment that it is not ready to go live, it's not editable for a start, many times someone finds the end date for the OP days after it's been posted with an estimated date. There's plenty of other faults been pointed out here too.

As somebody above said, this has been done without the least bit of understanding of how the comps board works. The concept is great but please hang fire and develop it WITH us!

Yup, it certainly seems that way at the moment!

I still feel that if this change must happen, then it makes sense to use both of the ways, at least until all or most of the unknown ones (that have the old end date in the title) are gone to game over, otherwise it's either going to be annoying for us to use as we have to sort it twice or it's going to be a big job for someone to edit all the unknown ones. :eek:
