Competitions Time End Dates

I thought the idea of the little boxes to select the date was so that it would then be automatically entered into the title. They have been making test posts this afternoon, maybe they're working on that, realistically, having the ability to select 'unknown' really negates it being there at all.

Ok it's problematic at the moment because it filters out the "unknown"s, but that's because so many of us have been ignoring the new "end date" box & putting unknown instead. That will sort itself out gradually over the next few months.

I 'sort by name' in my own bookmarks, not on the boards. My bookmarks hold the comps that I'm interested in entering.

Nooooooo, change it back

I liked being able to see the end date clearly in the title, rather than having to put my glasses on or opening the thread.

Surely MSE should listen to their forum members? We are the ones who use the forums, why change something that works?

I can't open a tab with those to do when I have time, while still being able to see the end date now !!?!?!

Is it just me or are these "changes" coming in because so many "newbies" have complained that finding their way around the forums is too hard to grasp? I have seen lots of comments on threads asking how to sort end dates, people asking on Facebook & twitter how to do it - makes me think this has all been done to try and attract more to the forums.

TBH, I haven't attempted to look at the forum since this afternoon. Will be tackling it after the kids have eaten, but I'm not liking the thought

I hope it's easier otherwise I don't see the end of this argument.

No idea at all how I'll be able to use the board. I comp as things are posted, but due to health issues often have a few days to catch up on, so I open all the ones I want to enter into tabs and bookmark them. I then sort the bookmarks in alphabetical order so I can enter the ones about to close and leave the non urgent until I feel better. Have done this for over 5 years, but won't work now.

Think there are quite a lot of people who use their own bookmarks to mark comps to enter later

It's fine if that is the reason but that still doesn't explain why they won't allow us to use the old way too?

Wonder if we'll get any response about all of this from the MSE team....
