Scroll down - it's the "Additional Fields" box below the icons and things. Click in the box & there's a popup where you can select the date. You can type it as free text if you prefer (dd-mm-yyyy).

From things others have said, you can't put E: DD/MM in the title - if you do then it won't let you post, might even keep telling you to use the option tool even though you've done that too.

It is now impossible to visually quick scan the first couple of pages for comps ending imminently. It was so easy to instantly see today's date and discount the others to do later.

I can see no benefit in changing what was an excellent format. Of all the recent changes implemented the only two that I can honestly say have been for the better are the tick box and the skip.

This will drastically change the way that I comp as I saved all of MSe's comps to bookmarks and relied on the E: date in the title to sort the bookmarks into date order on my computer, with this new system I have no way of doing this so I will be forced to use the comp board's inferior sort and search

with my system I could instantly see how many comps there where left to do on any given day, month or year

all of the bookmarks where tagged so I could sort by date,daily weekly monthly, comp prize or anything else

will I be able to do this with the new system? I rather doubt it

MSE's sorting system will be OK for sorting by date but what we also need is the ability to sort the Daily, Weekly, Twitter, Facebook Blog comps etc and also to be able to search by comp prize

would it be possible at some time in the near future for the new date system to have tags beside the new end dates so that all of the Daily, Weekly, Twitter, Monthly, Facebook and Blog comps etc could be sorted into groups and date order?

But the date is still there, it just needs to be made to stand out more.
When all threads have the new date, you won't need to scan the list to pick out today's date as the dates won't be mixed up at all. Using the new sort by date button, all of those ending "today" will be at the top of the board. Simples.
It is, however, going to be very awkward until all threads have the new box filled.

A bit more effort but when you save a bookmark you can always add the date yourself as titles are editable. I have been doing this for some time using Google Bookmarks on my Google Toolbar as I comp from different computers and access my bookmarks from both.


Some coding changes somewhere mean that Google no longer picks up the thread title so I have to enter my own.


Having said that I still don't like the new system that has been imposed.

I do not use the sort by date button, I comp as they are posted and if I get behind I bookmark the page that I am on and do a quick visual of first few pages.

Yes, bolder style end date will help but in my opinion it worked perfectly as it was if you followed the instructions on how to search at the bottom of the page so, what is the reasoning behind the change?

However, that's only if it works properly and it takes away the ability to fully customise search or sort

I would welcome any changes that actually IMPROVED the site but this just seems to be messing for messing's sake.

I'm sure everyone will get used to it but the point is that the old system wasn't a problem so there was no need to implement this. The reason most of us chose MSE comps over Loquax/Prize Finder etc was because we liked the layout here. Apparently that doesn't matter anymore.

Aghh this is shocking. as i dont search by date this just gonna slow me down. Well i guess its their forum they can degrade usability as they wish, its us that suffer until a rival appears

Without seeing the end date in the tab title is my biggest issue as its adding soo much time adding to an excel file my entries and checking that i havn't missed the end date and because of this ive decided to enter less.

How do we complain about this "bug"
