  • It should be LAW that child custody and access should be dealt with, when a divorce is done. Any parent breaking the access with out a very good reason gets community service or fine. The law is supposed to action the second part but doesn't. This leads to long legal battles which cost the government 9/10 time expenses in legal aid, court time, police time for the high proportion of crime committed due to drink etc because mothers are refusing to let fathers see their children. He then becomes unemployed which costs the government a lot of money which could be saved, with a simple action at the time of divorce.
  • As in Portugal, the UK should decriminalise drugs. This has been proven to reduce prison costs, the cost of policing and most importantly the number of addicts within society. A more radical alternative could introduce supply which is taxed as in sale of alcohol or tobacco. This would raise revenue for NHS.
  • Do we really want these people in charge of social policy in the UK? A recent initiation ceremony involved burning a £50 note in front of a homeless man.
Also, ban lobbying groups with vested interests and political parties affiliation with big business.
  • The 12% starting rate of tax is National Insuranceat £7605 (£7488 for employers), substantially lower than basic rate incometax at £8105 (soon £10K). Help the low paid and job creation and simplify the tax system byincreasing NI thresholds to match income tax.
  • Abolish National Insurance and replace it with revised income tax rates. Four out of five members of the Insitute of Directors think this will dramatically simplify the tax system and help create jobs.
  • 27000 Romanian nationals arrested 2012 in London alone, there's only 68000 of them here - for now! EU to set up so each member takes responsibility for own nationals, pays for detection and punishment of convicted criminals in other jurisdictions? 'Free movement of labour' between member states shouldnt include criminals.
  • Review the DWP benefit entitlement for people detained in NHS secure psychiatric units. Everything other than clothing and what little personal belongings they are allowed, is provided by the UK Tax payer, all meals, heating, lighting, personal electricity usage, etc. If patients are of eligable age, they also receive the 'cold weather payment' & the 'winter fuel allowance'.

Since tobacco advertising was prohibited, the number of smokers has reduced, easing the strain on the NHS in the long run. Similarly ban alcoholic drinks and junk food advertising to hopefully improve the health of the nation and help the NHS.

Since tobacco advertising was prohibited, tobacco sales have dropped = less tax for the government from it. Gambling advertising seems to have taken its place, with the government now getting lots of tax from it. When times are hard, the last thing we should be encouraged to do is gamble our pennies away. Ban the advertising - nothing good comes of gambling, only broken homes, increased debt and unhappiness.

Instead of the postcode lottery with Council Tax bills, bring back a fair and workable Poll Tax so every adult in the UK pays the same monthly amount to the government coffers to run the nation's services (which are currently struggling under council rule & budgetting).
