  • By far the economy is crippled with rising gas electric and petrol prices. Drastic intervention is required as we struggle to choose between heat or eat ! We need petrol to keep our jobs... .Do something, no spare cash means a worsening economy.
  • Raise the savings limit to the national average yearly income to £26,500 this would encourage more people to save, and the ones that havn't sqaundered there money to get the help they need when they become unemployed.
This has happened to us after 32yrs with the same company and being made redundant and paying into the system having more than £16,000 in savings we are getting £71.00 a week!
  • Housing associations to lease an older person's house for 2,3 or 4 times their medically-assessed life-expectancy, with proceeds used to fund residential care. The house would revert to the heirs on lease expiry, when a lease length based sliding scale would determine the heirs' contribution to necessary renovations.
  • Financial education in schools
Children should be educated about the basics of the money system, budgeting and finance. Similar to the video courses used by PositiveMoney.org
  • Make them respond to demand - not automatially change when no pedestrians or traffic at them.
Reduce exhaust emissions, reduce fuel usage, improve traffic flow.
Use cameras to check if need to change - a few more won't hurt!

Make the cost of travel to work both tax and benefits deductible so people lucky enough to find a job they can walk to are not substantially better off than those who have to pay out a fortune on transport to work.
  • Any advertisement which says words to the effect of "from £x" should add, equally prominently "to £y, typically £z". And any which includes limited offers, eg "only £X for the first n months" should add, equally prominently, cost information outside the limited offer.

For one week a year stop all benefit payments. Those on benefits would have a whole year to save for the week off. Monies saved will go to reduce budget deficit.

!!!!!! and everyone working could donate a week's earnings every year to reduce the budget deficit - wonder how popular that would be.

Give tax refunds to childfree couples - a lot on here is about giving breaks to people with kids, what about those without kids who are funding these breaks yet getting nothing in return?
Such a selfish view - who paid for these childless couples when they were children themselves - I am sick of people without kids complaining about helping those who do have kids - your parents were helped just the same. I suppose we could all be selfish and stop having children altogether - then who's gonna wipe your **** when you are too old & frail?
  • Motor insurance is mandatory; no problem, but that should not be a license to hike up charges for renewals or indeed staying with your current insurer. Also, an industry-uniform transparent scale for setting premiums should be visible to customers. This should be divised and enforceable by the FSA.
