I would like the government to take a lead on the litter problem in Britain at the current time. Drive or walk around any city, town or countryside and all you can see is litter disfiguring the area and making this country look dirty and uncared for. As councils set their own budgets for services,it needs to begin at government level to try and educate people not to drop litter or enforce the law if necessary.0

Every UK citizen should have a tax code and National Insurance number. Government should be able to use the combination of this information to assign the correct level of means tested benefit to an individual. no difficult forms to fill in. No code or no NI then no benefit.0

Like nobody is allowed to drive a car on a public road without at least a provisional driving licence, nobody should be allowed to open a current account, or take out a credit card or loan without having passed a basic Personal Finance Aptitude Test.
The test should be supported by simple online learning modules that people can take at leisure. The funding should come from the Finance Industry.0 -
Withdraw all 0845 numbers
Originally designed to save callers money, they now do completely the opposite. Neither my landline nor mobile package includes them, yet they'd be included if they were ordinary geographic numbers. 0845 numbers have no place any more, incurring cost or else inconvenience to users trying to avoid them.0 -

Force banks to clearly show the current gross rate of interest on bank account statements and on-line banking. That way you will be able to quickly see when bonus rates expire and be able to make better comparisons. They could also show cumulative financial year to date interest paid/tax deductedTrying to do the right things right0

Estate agents can ask hundreds of pounds in charges to get a contract. Charges such as contract, reference, credit check, check-in and check-out fees need to be scrutinised for fairness and competition. Trade-bodies that are supposed to protect consumers should be compulsory membership and have proper powers.0
