  • France have just brought in a law that orders all business (non-residential) lights to be turned off at night. It is estimated this measure will save them £600m/yr. Britain should do this, it's a no-brainer!

Crumbling roads – a false economy. Stop all new road building until existing roads have been repaired.

The state of UK roads is a national disgrace, making us an international laughing stock. Cars are damaged and people killed as a direct result.

Give councils the money to sort out this mess either from existing resources or by stopping all new road building until existing ones are repaired.
  • At 57, I am in that group of women who have had their retirement age changed twice, once from 60 to 64, now to one month short of 66. I do feel retirement ages need to be equal for men and women but brought in more slowly and fairly to enable us to make financial provision for 6 years of delayed pension.

Tax all betting especially spread betting, why should winnings be tax free?

Why shouldn't winnings be free? The person has already paid tax when they earned the money, will be fleeced again when they spend it on most items and yet again whey they die, do they get the tax they have paid refunded when they lose?
  • Benefits should be paid in vouchers so that they must be spent on food, clothing etc. Necessities for children's well being!

Voucher's could be issued for a rationed supply of cigarettes & alcohol.

This morning i witnessed a malnourished poor toddler looking numb whilst his mother stood next to him smoking!
  • Many people prefer to use out of town shops because of the free car parking, making already-tough times harder for town centre shops. Make car parking free in town centres, so shoppers save money yet businesses make money as more people use their shops.
