  • At present, all child carers who look after a child for more than 2 hours a day for reward must be registered and inspected with Ofsted. I would like this to change to make it easier for grandparents to care for grandchildren without needing childcare training and Ofsted inspections.
  • Stop the touts making money off the real fans. I bet they don't pay tax on their profits either!

[FONT=&quot]The revenue raised should be directly used to fund independent and unbiased public information. This should be broadcast on the same media as the advertisements to counter misinformation

Display information on checkout from bar code:

Supermarkets checkout systems should display the ethical and environmental credentials of each item. This can be calculated from the bar code via a database. An overall score for the basket of goods can also be shown at the end.

Avoid wastage of non-prime food produce:

Most ‘marked’ and ‘misshaped’ produce currently go to waste. Retailers should be required to sell a minimum proportion of this at a discount to gain an environmental benchmark.

Ensure ‘Weekly payment stores’ don’t charge hidden premiums

‘Weekly payment stores’ should be required to display all additional costs. That is not just interest but any ‘premium’ charged for the base product and ‘extras’ relative to the average charged by other retailers. Those products which can’t be compared like for like shouldn’t be sold on credit.
  • We are pensioners enjoying our free bus travel but feel that as the UK's bus costs are unreasonably high for everyone else - especially the young and unwaged, a small charge (50p?) per trip should be made with the proceeds subsidising their travel. We already pay 50p for travel before 9.30am.

As in Australia and USA, ban the sale of alcohol in supermarkets and limit it to bottle shops only, where closer controls could be carried out on who buys.

Self assessment tax returns have to be filled in with rounded figures, but the final calculation is to the penny, which always results in a discrepancy which has to be dealt with. Write off all tax amounts, owed or owing, under £5 and save on administration.

My own experience : I was owed 4p for nearly two years until they calculated I owed 35p, when they were able to offset it - crazy!
