Making the Winter Fuel Allowance and Cold Weather Payments a part of the basic State Pension should give savings in administration and would mean that better off pensioners would pay more tax ie the money is directed to those most needing it.

Councils need to radically reduce the amount of traffic restricting street furniture in towns and cities. Too much cash is spent on painting yellow/white lines, parking enforcement meters, personnel and signage. One way streets should be banned unless too narrow for two cars to pass.
  • I recently visited our local A&E on a weekend, with my daughter. Out of the 8 other children in there all except my daughter had sports related injuries sustained at horse riding/football/motocross etc. it was a similar story in the adult section.
Why can't people who play sports be required to take out a health insurance via their club/society and then get treated without the cost falling on the shoulders of the NHS? I'm sure it would only add a few pounds a year to the costs.
  • Exactly what it says on the tin. A bill/ act to take precedence in a court of law based on what a rational persons (already defined in law) actions would be in any given situation. Apply it to anything and you always get the most sensible outcome rather than some of the obscure decisions based on acts such as human rights!

Ban all forms of "fake savings" such as RRP,SRP and price establishment that Amazon and others use.
Define that a saving MUST have been sold at a higher price for 28 consecutive days in the last 6 months and those dates must be display alongside the saving.

  • Working parents should be able to claim childcare costs as an allowable expense against their income. Having to pay £1000 per month is prohibitive to most people but playing out of gross earnings rather than net would ease the burden.

Allow council budget surplus's run over from one year to the next, it's crazy that they go mad with road improvements in Feb/Mar just to use up the remaining budget when they could put it towards bigger or on-going problems/projects.

The State pension should be excluded from all taxation

If, like me, you have worked all of your working life, (as a works electrician), for a poor paying employer, why should we be taxed on our state, plus small works pension. (which I improved with additional voluntary contributions). I could only afford these, because to earn a reasonable wage I had to work a lot of overtime and night shifts. YES, these high ranking bank officials and others, who are given MASSIVE HANDSHAKES when they decide to move on, (usually to get another golden hand shake, often with OUR hard earned money), should be MASSIVELY TAXED. Perhaps then, it may be that those of us who have really worked hard, wouldn't need to pay tax after retiring.
Just remembered, life isn't meant to be fair is it ?.
  • Solution to road congestion. All over Europe Lorries are loaded onto trains to take them from ports to industrial centres so why cant we have that here? Say a train at dover to take lorries to a site in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow. Get the lorries off the road lets free up Britain
  • Do something about prosecuting fraudsters. Criminals are robbing innocent people to fund their illegal activities, yet the Police are uninterested. No one is responsible for this except, possibly, ‘Action Fraud’ who only seem to log examples and publicise a list. Meanwhile the fraudsters are continuing their practises with impunity.
